also a related suggestion: when it's a best of 3 and one team wins the first two maps, consider putting up a third fake video that's roughly the length of a match so people watching VODs don't get spoiled
Yeah I like that. I think there's a feature like that if you watch the videos on the site: http://teamfortress.tv/schedule/event/196-esea-lan-grand-finals-hrg-vs-classic-mixup but the archive here isn't very easy to navigate. Maybe a 'matches' tab at the top of the site? Sorted by league and date.
It might be a nice touch to add custom thumbnails to the match vods on the TFTV youtube channel. I put some examples together of what I meant.

I think putting the league logo on the thumbnail looks good, but I couldn't find a clean hi-res version of ESEA or ETF2L logo (hence my ghetto one) so if anyone has them let me know.
Its not that time consuming, if the idea/design is liked I can create them based on the schedule for the week and get them to whoever runs the YT channel before the vods go up.
PS: whoever does run the YT channel needs to update the profile picture and banner image for the new channel page layout,
Great news, I always love the top 10 videos. TF2 has felt somewhat lacking without a monthly injection of big play highlights.
What do the guys think of the tangible growth the comp tf2 scene has experienced in the last few months/year? Do they enjoy having more spectators/fans or did the like TF2 b/c it was so niche in the first place?
Some random duder in twitch chat after that match
Sam71623: this was a pretty great intro to comp tf2 for me
manaYes. We're fleshing them out. They will be absolutely extensive and, of course, appeal to everyone.
We're pretty excited to see the reception on this; we think it's the right move for the TF2 community, for a lot of reasons.
great. I assume you've already thought of what they could be, but is there any chance valve will implement some cosmetics for supporting the fund?
Giving people a badge/hat to say they donated or (more inline with what Valve are doing at the moment with DOTA2) to show which side they support, US or EU would be a good reward that I can see encouraging a lot of people to pitch in.
This is great news. Going through indiegogo, have you thought about what the reward tiers will be, if any? That's always a great way to wrangle a few more dollars from people. Better to keep rewards digital if you do decide to go with it so you don't have to deal with shipping and delivering physical goods.
