They probably have the roster ready so if they lose the poll they don't get stuck in open. I'm sure if they got an automatic spot in invite they'd just make a new one.

Hello, The Grime is a returning team from S16 Open that will be participating in S17 IM and S5 Open. Our roster is as follows:

Farns is in hawaii right now in an awkward timezone for him with pretty shitty internet, so with 4 matches a week any pocket backup should get to play matches for sure. Demos will play weekly if I still end up playing highlander, and the others are gone every now and then too. If you can't pay your league fees we can try to help you depending on how often we'll need you.

Highlander, the one game mode that Valve favored the most, is turning into a giant joke (or even more of one I guess if you weren't fond of it in the first place).

Flank classes can run a muck all over your combo since the Heavy has horrible accuracy ramp up and burst stickies don't do shit anymore. A Demo can only pressure a team back if he wants to use up all of his clip and be useless for a few seconds, and unless you have a coordinated team that has an alive flank when you're ready to push, that full health wrangled level 3 sentry isn't going down.

It's not just Heavy and Demo mains upset, many people are upset that either they got nerfed, or the things they're fighting are just too easy to kill/defend against. Unless a Pyro gets him a Spy can make an easy get away from a combo, Soldiers have an easier time bombing in, and buildings are easier to keep alive.

I know a lot of people are saying "oh it's a meta change, you need to get used to it", but there's so much that everyone has to get used to now that not only is it frustrating to practice something continuously to get to a high level at it, it's just flat out not as much fun anymore, and I know a lot of people ready to just quit if nothing changes.

Such a shame, just as people overall started taking the game mode more seriously and adding a prize pot last season too.

Pretty sure a lot of the forfeits in Open playoffs were from teams that didn't want to repay their premium to get knocked out quickly after, sparing a few to being flat out dead and client problems.

I'd really recommend alfa since he's played (almost?) every class in Invite, could get a lot of variety in a video of him.

High IM team thats starting roster so far consists of two people? By that logic you could be a low IM team too, just depends on the pickups.

Seems a bit silly but Maik and Cheeriss put a lot of time into this game so its a good base to build up from, if they pick up people with the same mindset they could probably work well as a team.

Don't know what you're talking about, LFT and LFP threads aren't just for fluff and happy words by your friends, you should expect criticism or legitimate opinions about your team that may not be the most positive things in the world. Yes, it is my opinion that with the roster you have right now I'm not quite sure you guys would be high open.

Also I did say you guys would be a solid open team, and would have good cohesion by the end of the season if you put the determination to improve that you guys have in highlander into 6s, but I guess that's not a "good" enough thing to say.

If they practice and take the season as serious as they do highlander then they could do pretty ok by the end of the season. Maybe mid as long as they pick up players that fit with the schedule they have (that is a very small window for scrims though...)

I know one instance of mumble freezing in general is if you have overlay on while alt tabbed in a game. The overlay tries to work but since the application isn't up front it bugs out and freezes. I don't use spotify but I'd figure I'd throw that out there for general freezing problems since we're around that topic; just tab back in for a sec to unfreeze.
