CaspianRazer has plans for larger tournaments but without decent participation in smaller weekly events it won't happen.
Basically sign-up for the FREE weekly tournaments unless you want to prove that comp TF2 can't even fill a 16 team bracket. Rosters restrictions are relaxed (ie you can add players at almost anytime to your roster) and entry is free. I don't even actively play anymore but I still signed up for the dates I could play.
Razer has run 10 tournaments so far for TF2 and done so for both EU and NA.
$100 x 10 tournaments x 2 regions = $2000
Sign-up a pug team or get ringers and fill up the tournaments. If the bracket is full you're less likely to run into the 2-3 im/invite pug teams.
Razer Arena has good server quality, esea style server plugins, and excellent admin support (Dillusive owns). Matches start fairly quickly and there's less downtime between matches.
I have no idea why there is not event on the side bar, Regardless I know everyone in open schedules scrims now, If a team you scrim is not signing up send them a message and let them know they are happening. I messaged every team leader i know for the ones 2 weeks ago and we got 9 signs ups. really a shame they all did not keep signing up but its well worth the effort.
