So I recently got a new pc and want to mess around after effects and sony vegas and get some clips out.

But I'm stuck on the boring part...

So I want it the maximum quality possible and at 1080p so I rendered it with vdub at 480fps's and 1920x1080, but I got a 60Gb .avi file for like a 15 second clip, I can't afford having 10-15 of these 50gb+ files in order to make a single minute movie. Is there any way to export from vdub directly at a smaller size? or encoding it before importing it to vegas?

I tried easy h.264 to compress the file before importing and it was great I got a 15mb file instead of 15Gbs, but I lost a lot of quality in the process, is there any way to avoid this? Any other compressing program or codec I should know about?

I wouldn't ming being stuck with 1-2gbs video files for editing, thats cool, 50gb on the other hand is way too much for a single file.

Oh shi... Just installed GTA IV in hopes I could finally try it for the first time... Guess Im up for a disappointment. I think it's a win8<->steam issue as well, gaben dealt with it really bad

And I would really prefer windows 8 since I have a free license through university and performance wise and these issues aside seems way better than win7

Yes I waited, I restarted steam, I searched around google for that particular fix and went through some windows properties and checked everything, nothing seems off...

I don't know what's happening at all, now I was able to open the game, played 5 minutes, closed the game, someone called me for a scrim and I tried to open the game and the same fuckin problem out of nowhere, fastfoward 1 hour on CS GO and now I can play again, I don't even know whats going on, it seems it does as it pleases...

Already opened a thread on steam forums, facepunch, steam support, everything, no one seems to be able to help me

So I recently got a new computer, pretty solid build and everything, but...

Installed steam and tf2 and everything went fine for the first few hours, then I started having a really annoying problem, everytime I launch the game it goes up until the splash screen and then simply disappears, no error message, nothing, the process doesn't even remain on the task manager.

First time I solved it by reinstalling gfx drivers and restarting, happened again and I made a fresh install of windows 8, it was solved again for the first few hours then the same f*ckin problem appears.

I already made 2-3 fresh installs of windows 8 because of this, wasted 10+ hours trying to solve it and nothing works...

Any help?

Extra info:
Running on windows 8, i7, gtx 670, steam installed on ssd, all drivers updated. No fuckin clue how to solve this.

Finally replacing my pc of 6 years (that averages 10 fps's on mids) now , next week all the stuff should arrive. Kinda overkill but I intend to do a lot of video processing, audio editing, image and video editing, maybe streaming, etc...

Only disappointed with the SSD, I wanted a 250Gb OCZ vertex 4 but it wasn't available and the only 250gb ssd available was not really the best, but fuck it, I can't wait anymore to get my hands dirty. Also the GFX was supposed to be the asus one but I had to pick the EVGA because it was the only gtx670 on storage, doesn't seem much worse tho.

Already have the deathadder, kinda excited to see how the corsair keyboard will behave, gonna be my first mechanical keyboard.

I love the taste of redbull, it's probably the best "soda" out there for me, having said that I drink it like once every 2 months, can't abuse that shit.

Except when I took part in the red bull soapbox race and got redbull for free all weekend when I pleased, drank like 30 bottles in those 2 days, we finished our car overnight and I was still pumped for the race. The hangover is not pretty tho.

Also, protip: don't mix it with alcohol, vodka + redbull tastes great but is a sure way to dig your own grave ._.

As I said on etf2l I was really hoping for a lan with 2 NA teams and finally the top OZ team coming as well, great to know at least 1 US team is coming, gonna pledge for the OZ team as well :D

I will donate for sure, for the NA teams or OZ teams doesn't matter, I just would love if we could have 3 scenes playing the best tf2 out there for the entire world to see..
