A sniper has to get his weight and more in damage making his off-class viable. That usually means 1 pick to balance out the 5v6 and then the damage you would normally do on your respective main. You're giving up presence in a fight for the ability to do more damage if you can aim. Most players end up doing nothing and their team dies around them. In mixes if they're trying to learn to play their class they shouldn't be allowed to play sniper (with the exception of last push offclassing).

#4 Agressive Scout in need of a mentor in Mentoring

I'm currently helping 3 other scouts right now so I'll just give you some tips.
Being a successful aggressive scout means having a good feel for timing and playing off the team's damage not baiting them and then cleaning up by +forwarding 5 hp players. Don't think that it means you should tunnel vision 1 player and die for the 1-1 trade. Your dm will be the greatest factor that will limit how aggressive you can play. Just remember every shot you miss means another shot you'll eat from someone you're fighting. Get a buff and OUT-DM other players. GL

TaggerungMakes me wonder how companies can still afford to sell games for $60 when they have to put more manpower and time to create all these assets.

A lot of companies use premade engines like unreal3 and unity3d that charge a percentage of their profit (and maybe a flat rate). Most companies that do end up developing their own engine use it for a long time. (source / ubisoft's anvil for all AC + Tom Clancy games)
I'm sure over the lifespan of the engine, they make more than enough money to cover the cost.

Radmandoes this hold true for higher level teams?

No, when I die with bpm, if I am confident that I put out enough damage/got enough picks/need to use our uber advantage/got the right picks(med / demo / heavy / sniper each of these have a clear role in a fight. Med goes down, play it slow with your heals, sniper goes down, play aggressive with your pick classes and try to fight a spam war, etc), I will call the push. The heals I normally get will be moved to the engy or scout. On a lower team, this probably would not work because let's face it. It's pretty hard to miss as demo and when your hitscan classes are all missing a third to the majority of their shots, they won't be able to cleanup and they'll just die. Again, it's a call based on trust and judgement of the situation. However, if you want to play safe you should wait for the demo's spawn or only push when you have significant advantages.

tldr: If your teams dm is good, you can probably just out dm the other team based off of having more health or having more players. If they decide not to fight, congrats you just bullied another team out of a point. (most of this only applies to the 5cp maps, demo is pretty much needed to take down a sentry + force uber on PL)

You should try writing off of the X/Minute or X/Death stats instead of the total since a lot of players' scrim time varies. It would make comparing players more accurate.

Heavy is pretty useless without 450, Demo is pretty weak without a buff and protection. Trying to clump a pocket soldier in with those 2 will just result in 4 people eating the same spam.

I think the dm of plat teams has to improve before we will see large shifts in how people play.

You're still creating the problem that happens in euro/aussie tf2. The moment a team gets an advantage whether it's 1 round or 3, they'll be more encouraged to sit on it if they know the other team is pressured to race the clock. Even etf2l is making a push to change over to the NA ruleset.
