DanceNumberdo you have a set of rules in place for players on the site?
Yes. We've formulated what we think to be an extremely sensible list of rules. We've figured these rules out almost entirely over the past few months, and we're actually going to confirm them in an admin meeting this Saturday.
DanceNumberAlso how will these rules be enforced?
- We have what is essentially a chart that we plan to follow in most situations with a list of offences and number of times the user has committed the offence that leads to a certain number of days/weeks/months ban.
- Mods follow this grid and dole out bans from one hour up to a month, admins can ban up to three months, and anything higher will be confirmed by a committee of admins that meets weekly.
- There are !admin commands in all chats that can notify mods/admins of any issues occurring in real time.
- There will be a form for users to report things like trolling, griefing, etc. It can also be able to appeal bans.
DanceNumberWill people be free to spam chat or play troll classes in game, or is there an action plan to mitigate these things?
Being intentionally useless to your team or harassing other users will put you at threat of being banned. Users can report you to any mods/ admins that are online with the "!admin" command instantly or report it afterwards in a form.
DanceNumberDo you embrace the "it's just a lobby" mentality or do you want this to be more serious?
On a personal note, I think matchmaking will be a great outlet for people that just want to goof off in a 6v6-ish format. I think "serious" is a pretty strong word, but I think that users should go into lobbies planning to try their best. Hopefully I answered your questions decently.
BisquitWhen is this going public?
No set date, but we are rapidly approaching an open beta. We'll post as soon as we have a date set, though.
