Unless anything has changed you still can't play games in borderless in 8 or 10 without it being really choppy. So, if you like playing in borderless, stick with 7.

#21 Smart Drugs in Off Topic

Been messing around with nootropics for a while. Tried noopept, oxiracetam, L-Theanine + Caffiene Combo, and Vinpocetine.

It's really hard to gauge effects but I feel the most off the L-Theanine + Caffeine Combo in terms of just feeling clear and focused. However, noopept + vinpocetine makes me feel like I learn faster. I'll eventually test all of these and their effects in a more scientific way once I plateau in some way and can track myself. Just make sure if you take something like noopept that you're also taking a choline source like Alpha GPC so you don't get headaches.

For people disliking this topic: Just because it's not in a healthy diet doesn't mean it's not something your brain or body don't still want, they just don't exactly need it. Most nootropics are natural and you can read about how exactly they affect your brain and why they're almost always safe to use. There could be a multitude of things your brain could use right now to make you feel better but can't because you don't consume it.

PS: If you wanna feel like a god take 200mg caffiene, 100mg of L-Theanine, 800mg Oxiracetam, and 10mg Vinpocetine in the morning.

#4 BenQ 144Hz 24" XL2430T Review in Hardware

You said you found an ideal setting for blur reduction but do you actually use it for TF2? I fiddled with my Xl2411z's blur reduction forever and could never find a way to get rid of the terrible input lag. I managed to get the game looking incredibly smooth but would have what felt like half a second of input lag because the only way to get it that smooth was using v-sync. Without v-sync I could find no way to make it look nice.

#22 165hz Asus monitor in Hardware

Been curious for a long time why manufacturers stuck to 144hz. Weird number to pick when they could probably go up if they wanted to. I'd like to see some try to get even higher. Idgaf about color or res.

1080p, TN, 1ms GTG, 240hz sounds better than 4ms 165hz even if we're getting into really tiny differences.

#1 Zowie G-SR and P-SR in Hardware

I had never even heard of these pads until Showstopper talked about the P-SR on stream. Apparently they're getting really good reviews because of how good their glide is. They use a new type of rubber which gets rid of the bubbles that normal rubber bases like the Qck Heavy would have, making them very consistent.

I've been looking at pads like the Artisan Hayate and G-TF Speed more and more as getting an aluminum or plastic pad seems to always come with some type of downside and I want to try something with a very low static friction. The SR line up seems to have a very fast and smooth glide but maintains some decent control (though how you combine speed and control I don't know, never experienced it).

Basically, looking into a new mouse pad. Anyone have opinions to give on the G-SR or P-SR? Currently using the original Large Goliathus. Looking into the G-SR for using a 12-16" 360.

Ps: Maybe it's not doing that hot cuz it's pretty expensive ($41.45)

Knuckles_1440x638 seems to be good for you low res lovers, gonna use it. Hopefully I get over this headache it seems to give me

You're not stretching it are you? I couldn't stand that. I'd much rather have black bars.

#4 Trade Vertical Fov for Horizontal in Customization
deetrIf you set your game to fullscreen 1920x850 and then use Nvidia Control Panel to stretch it to your monitor size you presumably get the same fov increase but it takes up your whole monitor (also making everything slightly taller?). Has anybody tested that?

It works but everything is warped. Looks kind of weird but if you really want to play on like 108 fov then it probably wouldn't take long to get used to.

Okay I can't edit the title but THIS DOES NOT MAKE YOUR VERTICAL FOV LOWER. Just lets you use less of your monitor.

#1 Trade Vertical Fov for Horizontal in Customization

I'd always known this was possible since seeing how people could increase their fov with 21:9 monitors or using all 3 monitors for one game but had never messed around with it in TF2.

I changed my res using nvidia control panel. My main monitor had black bars around what was a true 1:1 1920x850.

As you can see the results can be pretty drastic. On 1920x850 you get 103.59 fov.

Thoughts
-Lowering your res like this means you might also be able to OC your monitor a little more. For me that just means a few hz since I'm already on 144 but for people with 60 or the like you might be able to squeeze out a little more.
-I got to 1920x810 (106.26 FOV) but the game just starts to look pretty bad.
-I think this would be something nice for soldier and demo mains but some people might like a lower fov on scout because increasing it like this makes everything too small.

The ATH-AD700x is supposed to be one of the best out there so I bet the AD500x (~$80) isn't that far off.

Dude has some horrifyingly impressive twitch aim.

Jesus christ it almost seems like an aimbot at some points. He flicks so fast I can't tell if he has a 1" 360 or is flailing is arm across his desk.
