#27 Slinfire HUD Release in Customization
TheWiseOneisn't this just bladehud?

There's differences, but the main one is that this one is Oxide HUD built on a Broesel HUD base, so the target IDs and a lot of the other pieces are different. The Oxide HUD feel comes from the health, ammo, scoreboard, and killfeed.

JackyLegsMR_SLINFeel free to let us know about any other features or suggestions that you have in mind. How about you start with adding the "Marked to Death" sign, bleeding sign, maybe a damage done next to the health/ammo (wherever you feel like it's the best, check bladehud to understand it), and that's just the start, if you said you intened to make it a competitivehud then..well I guess that using kbn/broesel/yA/omp etc', would be a better decision for people like me (I like playing on almost everything that TF2 has to offer!), but if you're a 100% competitive player, I guess you need to add not so many things, maybe a smaller scoreborad that will fit 6v6?
Love ya misa srin.

Pretty sure you're trolling me, but I'll answer you anyways...

The HUD focuses on being minimalistic and only presenting necessary information, or useful HUD elements. I felt that marked for death, bleeding, last damage done, etc. were not necessary. If you're bleeding, your screen turns red. It should be obvious. In addition, this is one of many HUD options, so feel free to choose whichever HUD. This is simply an option for people who like the "pretty stuff" taken out. Things like unnecessary boxes around HUD elements, fancy text, or large elements that are in your face.

Also I play a bit of highlander every now and again and find that the scoreboard is a good compromise to allow for players to do both 6s and HL.

PinKushinlooks good slin. r u gonna use this hud to cast too?

Not really, my internet isn't good enough for camerawork right now.

EsDeeKaycould you add a screenshot of the damagenumbers?

morning_foxCan this be updated for MANN vs Machine?

That wasn't the focus on this release, but if someone wants to step up and assist for that, then it can be done but there are currently no plans to adapt the HUD for MvM. Our main focus was to update the HUD for use in comp TF2 (both 6v6 and HL).

Thanks for the feedback guys! Feel free to let us know about any other features or suggestions that you have in mind.

#1 Slinfire HUD Release in Customization

This is the official release of Slinfire HUD.

Slinfire HUD is a revitalization of the original Oxide HUD created by Oxide (which itself was an update of Seeker's HUD). This iteration borrows elements from both Broesel and Omp HUDs. The HUD that you see today was designed by MR SLIN and produced by Raysfire. As always, this HUD is a work in progress and will be updated regularly. Check back for new versions.

Why bring back Oxide HUD?
It was one of the most popular HUDs of all time that was discontinued in June of 2011. Now, 2 years later, we're bringing it back, and updating it with some popular elements from the "modern" TF2 HUDs. It's not meant to be the prettiest HUD, but it is very functional and focuses on minimalistic elements.

Features:
-The look and feel of the original Oxide HUD including health cross, ammo, transparent scoreboard, and killfeed.
-Fixed and configured for use in 5 Capture Point, King of the Hill, Attack/Defense (Stopwatch), and Payload (Stopwatch) tournament modes.
-New and improved tournament spectator HUD with easy-to-read colors.
-New and improved medic HUD, with improved target IDs and ubercharge tracking.
-Demoman sticky counter and charge meter relocated to below the crosshair.
-Reduced clutter in scoreboard, class selection, and deathcam freeze.
-Health cross text turns blue with overheal.
-Small ammo text turns magenta when only 33% total ammo remains.
-Chat box reduced to smallest possible size.

Why use Slinfire HUD?
-Health and ammo are low on the screen, keeping the center clear.
-Health can be "read" using peripheral vision.
-Tournament spectator HUD is aligned on the right side of screen under the kill feed, keeping important information in the same location.
-This HUD is designed by a Medic main and is very medic friendly :D.
-This HUD is great for streamers as it keeps space clear for TFTV logo, webcam, and craftboard/scoreboard (for casts).

Download Instructions:
Go to my twitch page at twitch.tv/misterslin and scroll to the description. The most up-to-date download link is there.

Support for this HUD will be limited. It is designed for use with a 1920x1080 resolution and will not be adapted for other resolutions (unless some kind soul volunteers to do it for others).
We are always looking for feedback! Please let us know what you think of the HUD and give us your comments and suggestions.

Future Additions:
-Will add a new timer for the recently patched "tf_hud_show_servertimelimit" command,
and more than likely remove the server map timer from the scoreboard.

#119 War Of The Web -Place your votes in TF2 General Discussion

At least he gave it a shot. He got farther than 90% of the people who have proposed lobby systems.

It's a shame that he's so embarrassed that he'll never show up here again lol

#2 DrGilburt's stream request in Requests

Hi DrGilburt,

It looks like you just got your stream up and running, and while I'd love to add you to the TeamFortress.TV list of streams, I cannot add your stream at this point in time.

We're looking for people who consistently stream TF2 throughout the course of a single week as per the guidlelines listed here: http://teamfortress.tv/forum/thread/1769-request-guidelines-and-format

If you want some tips for getting your stream added, check here:
http://teamfortress.tv/forum/thread/6317-teamfortress-tv-listings-and-twitch-tv-team

I understand that you plan on streaming more TF2 in the future, but your stream is simply too new. We want to see people that can consistently stream throughout the week, and so we ask that you bump your thread when you feel that you have met this requirement.

I look forward to taking another look at your stream very soon.

Thanks,

MR SLIN
