#27 Tips from a 4k hr medic to help meds do their job. in TF2 General Discussion

Wow. I already said I *NOW* recognize what this place is (despite the lack of descriptions/guidelines). I pulled my post and won't be here anymore.

No need to be d!cks about it. Talk about a bunch of self-entitled people. The responses are VERY indicative of the type of community that frequent this place. You could have conveyed the same message in a much more productive/communicable way.

Well, thank you for the warm welcome. After careful consideration of responses and general vibe, I removed my post.

#28 Weird Keybinds in Customization

I use "E D S F" because of my old high-school days learning how to type. You'll notice that on every keyboard (or every one I've ever used) the F and J keys have tactile raised tabs on them.

In order to orient my fingers on the keyboard without looking I feel for the little "tabs" that are on them.

As a result, my "V" key is my crouch key.

Other than that, the only other non-common thing I do is map messages to my F keys like "Hello team what class do we need?" and stuff like that. I also use my extra mouse buttons for direct access to weapons. My thumb buttons are mapped to each weapon (primary, secondary and melee). I have one button on my mouse to scroll through different DPI's (Sniper vs Demo for example). I have another couple set to "GO GO GO" and "THANK YOU".

#8 My brightness changes depending on what I look at. in Customization

I found the issue. I had to do with my RAZER device (LED mousepad??). I installed the "Razer Synapse' software suite and in there, there were some settings. I uninstalled it and *poof*, everything went back to normal.

I wanted to provide an update so that in case anyone else had the same issue, they could try disabling/un-installing.

The start up options didn't work. Trying the other now.

Nothing in monitor settings.

I don't use a "master config".

I'll triple check everything thought. THanks.

#1 My brightness changes depending on what I look at. in Customization

My keyboard was dirty (wife was looking up a recipe on my gaming rig)

After wiping off my keyboard while TF2 was running, the brightness/contrast started to change dynamically. I am not sure what I did, but I can't find anything that would be related. I checked my video/display settings and ensured I didn't have dynamic contrast enabled. I don't even have the option.

This an an example: VIDEO HERE of what I'm seeing.

  • I am running Windows Home 10.
  • I have an NVIDIA 1650.
  • I'm running the latest drivers (Ver. 30.0.15.1215).
  • My monitor is a Dell 32" curved monitor (S3220DGF).

Any ideas as to what I can do to reverse/fix this issue? I should mention I don't have an "adaptive brightness" checkbox/setting in windows.

Thank you!
