Hey, it's about the time of year where I start to miss TF2 and wouldn't mind playing competitive again. I played a bunch of low level Highlander (and a bit of sixes) on-and-off in UGC a few years back before I had to run off and start doing grown man things. Work keeps me too busy to start on a team these days but I should be able to fill in for a scrim here and there.
Gameplay-wise...if I remember correctly I always had the pathological habit of doing stupid things that I never fixed, but I can still click on other players. Should be fine as long as you're not planning on winning Open.
For classes I can sub in anything that's not demo (can't properly rollout, can't use stickies, can't position for the life of me). I'm also a bad medic but I'll play it as long as you don't mind me cackling maniacally in mumble over your team's suffering. Pocket/Roamer/Scout I'm comfortable with and have a little bit of experience playing.

P.S. To my knowledge there are two other people called Numbers who have played in ESEA TF2. I'm neither of these people.
No one here will recognize any of these names but
Overdrive, Proto (spy main, not the one who played in ESEA), Junktron, King Cone, Magellan, Momothemonkey and Sincity were all ridiculously nice and low ego people to play with.
Cbear&DJC casting combo.
Movement definitely.
I'm more of a jump map than competitive kind of guy, but in both the degree of aircontrol feels just "right." Can't stand FPSs with no airstrafing and CPM movement feels kinda off to me (granted, I've spent way more time in Source than CPMA/Reflex/etc).

Kinda hesitant about gun pickup, but other than that I like the new changes.
reimu-knights of the old republic I and II :3
If you do decide to play KOTOR I&II, make sure to get the restored content mod for KOTOR II. The second game tends to get a bit of a bad rap for being incomplete and incoherent because LucasArts rushed Obsidian to get the game released in time for Holiday '04, but IMO it's even better than the first with the latest version of TSLRCM installed.
Edit: Also, since you said you said you played a bunch of the Total War Series, Crusader Kings II and Europa Universalis IV are nice time wasters if you were ever wanted more out of the grand campaigns' map/turn-based parts.
