JCONNORSome feedback though, some games were complete mismatch 5-0s which indicates an issue with the team making system. In addition some newbies were getting impatient towards the end saying that they had to sit out several games. Of course, these issues were already discussed in the mumble by Noona and company.
Hey JCONNOR~
I am glad to hear that you had an enjoyable time in the Newbie Mixes. Regarding the issue with stacked teams, there isn't much we can do about it sadly. Already we have taken precautions and added the "Novice" "Beginner" & "Experienced" classes for Newbies to add up as. However, sometimes newbies are confused and misplace themselves.
As drafters, our goals are to make teams as even as possible. We almost always draft newbies and coaches of equal skill level to both teams. A possibility to this is that Group A will work better than Group B as a team.
Now regarding the issue with players not being drafted immediately. As the night progresses you will hear many of the admins ask for specific classes, that have not played any tonight. By "any" we mean both mixes and pugs. If players are tired of waiting for coaches to drop in and get drafted, they are always welcome to come and pug. Last night I believe we had 3 pugs going simultaneously along with 5 mixes. Along with everyone I just mentioned, newbies are always well come to come and complain to the admins saying they were not picked, or etc. We will make you the priority.
I hope this answered (was it even a question :O?) the issues you were talking about. I look forward to seeing you in future Newbie Mixes!
We are really low on coaches early in the night, drop on by!
GasaiYunoAre there going to be more coaches this week?
*Also, is the IRC client going to be put into effect this week? If so how do I use it?
The IRC is just an experiment as of now, and won't be seeing much use
Besides practicing in game, make sure you are good out of game too. I'm a scout main myself, but I used to have really bad days just due to the fact I was relating IRL and TF2. If something frustrates you outside of game, you will play like you are frustrated and you have to make sure to catch that, and improve upon it.
Another thing about aim is your equipment. Having a good mousepad that is relative to your sensitivty is huge, but what's even more huge is a good monitor. The higher Hz in a monitor, the better. What it will do is it will decrease the motion blur and be more responsive during fights, making it easier to land shots
I recently got a 144hz Asus VG248QE, and I have been landing much more meat since than. Besides that, just have fun while you play the game. You won't improve in a game, if you don't enjoy it.
That was absoloutely insane. makes me want to go ahead, play quake and fail at replicating these jumps
cagenoona the greatest :)))))))
My pleasure cage! I try to help out the most I can. BTW Did it work?
Attempt to revalidate your game cache.
This can be done so by taking the following steps:
Go to your Steam Library
Right Click on Team Fortress 2
Click on Properties
A Window will pop up, procede to click on the tab labelled "Local Files"
Finally, Click the "Verify Integrity of Game Cache"
This will check if you have any missing or un-needed files, and either replace them, add them, or take them out entirely.
Hope this helps~! You should also note this works with most bugs.
redrocket4Awwww :c No more friday mixes?
The 2 mix a week was solely an experiment. We will do more in the future, but as of now, my schedule is preventing me to. Once school is out for me, they should be more frequent. Think of it as an occasional treat, not a re-occuring event. I can't spoil my newbies that much, haha :>
Hey everyone~
The only threads about monitors I ever saw on the forums were about which monitors and why, but no one seems to be saying why two is better than one or vice versa.
I started this thread because I recently ordered my Asus VG248QE 144z, and I still no use for my 60hz TV Monitor. Would it be better to just use the Asus or would it be better to use both?
Also, since it's similar let's take a step back. Which do you prefer? Single or Dual monitors and why?
This thread is not meant to say which if monitor x is better than monitor y, but simply myself asking for your opinion, and a discussion about the amounts of monitors.
That's pretty low. Knowing it was a scam, I probably would have messed with him a bit.
Couldn't agree with Hooli more.
