#66 TF2 Promod in TF2 General Discussion

You know I was thinking back to possible ways to make this feasible. And I'm thinking about the ways for perhaps financing it. Would be a terrible idea for making Promod a subscription based model?
The moment you involve money the seriousness of any issue related to how it's managed goes up, and that's understandable. But lets just ignore that possibility for now and think about just how realistic is this?
I think it's quite possible if the amount is large enough (1 euro for 1k players = 1k euros. etc..).
for example take serveme premium. obviously not everyone pays server me premium, but they hit their goal of 340 euros a month, that's with the fact that only one person per team really needs to get it, or just not at all. normal servers are still fine. It's just that I think if we start at the amount of 340 euros might have enough people that if each person need to pay just 1 euro we can probably get an amount that can support a small team of devs to take a couple of months to make it, then they can use the money each month to maintain it. And if there is excess maybe it can go to prize pools or something idk.

Just an idea that I thought up real quick, what do you guys think about the feasibility of this?
I think we can start hypotheticals at 1 euro but imagine if it was 5 euros instead would 5 be too much?
P.S: After some more thought, I do feel like this might limit newcomers, so what if freshmeat cups were free, but the actual league wasn't? if you want start playing for real you'll have to pay the fee sorta deal.
