ColemanI've not got time to get my point across as i've got to head out. But some of the older guys (i really am old now :/ ) will remember Fatality, Heaton, Spawn. Those guys are still doing well now off of the stuff they did back then. I agree that there wasnt $1/2,000,000 prize pots floating about but the CPL events back then were still dropping 15/20k to winners and there was a few of those a years. Before FPS games got overtaken by MOBAs and the RTS games you could make a tidy living and see a fair bit of the world if you were top level.
You could make a tidy living if you got involved with the aspects of gaming that weren't strictly gaming is what you're saying
