#6 1/25/15 New Open teams, how are you doing? in TF2 General Discussion

I feel like I am one of the few people who have been around for a while as far as watching and pugging but is still new to this team aspect of the game. This is my second season on a team and I can say that while CEVO was a great part of our community that I think should come back (please CEVO post things on TFTV so our small incompetent minds can remember when the season is) it just didn't provide the level of competition and drive I've seen out of some Open teams this season in ESEA. S/O to squid squad for playing games this season.

#55 The demoman nerf: a semi-statistical analysis in TF2 General Discussion
Saltysally1MoyI don't understand what's so bad about the nerf. I still do around the same amount of damage and, ultimately, the demo is still strong. Demos can still completely trap/spam off huge areas of the map, and stickies aren't that hard to do damage with if you just try to refine your aim with the projectiles.
It's a good way to cater to the pub community whiners about stickies, as well as catering to the comp players by requiring better aim.
Anyway, even if the nerf makes the game more pocket-centric, what's wrong with that? Might as well change the game's meta so that we get a little variety every once and a while.
thats cuz you did 200 dpm before the update moron

#10 Streching Windowed Borderless in Q/A Help
RRP[crude copypaste]
maddada 2 points 8 months ago
i had the same problem but with different resolutions (1080p monitor, want to play csgo 1680x1050 stretched)

but i want fullscreen windowed and i despise alt tabbing.

my solution was to install a program called HRC.exe which lets me select 2 resolutions and switch between them using a hotkey.

my setup for the program is like this: http://i.imgur.com/QTHJ1YB.jpg

and i just press ctrl+shift+[ before i launch csgo, and then when i'm finished i press ctrl+shift+] to return to 1080p

last thing you need to do is make your video.txt strictly read only because if you change resolutions then launch the game it will restore the default video settings, and i found that just ticking read only in video.txt's properties doesn't prevent the game from changing the video settings.

so i use easyfilelocker to lock the file from being altered. here are my settings for easy file locker: http://i.imgur.com/JrreWrd.jpg

it's pretty easy to use, just add video.txt to it and set it like this: http://i.imgur.com/VoSCYuB.jpg

i have a shortcut for easyfilelocker in my startmenu so i can disable the lock if i need to change something in my video settings (doesn't happen often)

anyways hope this was helpful.

This is probably my best bet. Thank you :)

#6 Streching Windowed Borderless in Q/A Help
MR_SLINyou might look into one of those external programs that takes a windowed bordered game and makes it full screen?

from what I've read most if not all of these cause issues involving pixel squishing and some weird issues with sensitivity

#4 Streching Windowed Borderless in Q/A Help
DrJeremyHave you tried -h [height of your monitor] -w [width of your monitor] in launch options?

that gives me a high resolution. I want to use a low one stretched to fill my monitor

drdonutmanUse the native resolution via in game settings, then use the ???_viewportscale command to lower the internal res. This should work.

I'll look into this

Edit: while I think it gives me some results that I like I dont think this is my "ideal" solution. Thank you for the tip though :)

#1 Streching Windowed Borderless in Q/A Help

Hi so I have a pretty odd question that I want to see if tftv can help me with.

So I want to run tf2 in windowed borderless for convenience for alt tabbing and things like that (I move people in mumbles during pugs and it's a general pain to have to reopen the game after doing something outside)

I was wondering if there is a way to stretch the window to fit a full sized monitor resolution? I have accounted for this issue before in the past by changing my monitor resolution but I am trying to switch to a low enough res where my monitor would then be a complete joke outside of tf2.

If anyone has any tips let me know :)
