And I can still more or less reliably kill a scout charging at me when i have at least 3 of them loaded. You can't do that with pipes.
Also self damage is a bitch.

And you should reliably kill scout charging at you with stickies because...?

Equip Loose Cannon if you want scout out of your personal space.

WariPlatinumMustard the reason why I like this change is because it breathes new life into a somewhat stagnant game. New strategies, play styles, things to worry about and things to figure out are much more fun to me than putting in 80 hours a week to perfect some spam angles that instagib an over buffed scout.
So for quake, let's breathe some life into the game by making the railgun do 50% damage but fires faster, the LG now has a damage cone instead of just being on one point, and the gauntlet now gives a 2x speed bonus and instakills.

Sorry breathing life into a game by changing basic game mechanics is not the way to go.

You have to be joking. Demo does less damage immediately after firing and you compare it to that.

bscchanging the foundations of a game isn't the scenario in which players should have to adapt.

that would be like telling all the world cup players they could use their hands for the upcoming competition.

If you wanna go there, foundations of a game have demo listed as defense class.

When eX, Sal and others talked about comp tf2, RObin said that tf2 meta is relatively stale, there is nothing exciting, no new strategies and it seems like people can't adapt to try new thing and will rather do old things forever. This forum especially called that bullshit, yet after cp_badlands was updated in "Move That Update Up!" we could see big cries about changes and people making cp_badlands_pro already. Now, 20 minutes after update that nerf sticky spam hits, people are calling for sourcemod/tftrue variable that will overrun that.

What happened to "adapt"?

Whoever made your HUD also made some mistakes in Clientscheme and scripts/HudAnimations_tf.

Try downloading newest version of your hud and installing all fonts.

If it's like it was in TFC, it's a somewhat slow nail that slows on hit, has crappy ammo, and slow as all hell reload time. It is still a pain in the ass to deal with in TFC - hoping it doesn't appear in TF2.

I suppose all I can hope for more-so is that scouts don't get caltrops again, and instead of people camping spawn to kill your medic in scrims/matches, you find 600 caltrops there so you can't even contest the 2nd point even if you originally could have or wanted to.

Hyped for conc's tho. If they work like they do in TFC... the rebirth of CTF???

EDIT: saw in one of the posts something about sniperrifleclassic. Full charged shots while unscoped? dayum

Anyone reading tf2 comics?

What happened is that original mercs are now entering tf2 universe in what seems to be a fight between old and new mercs - think Classic TF versus TF2. When we put that into context of this update and so many mechanics from TFC suddenly appearing in TF2... new game mode could be based around that fight? (which also means that we wouldnt have to worry about imbalances in other game modes like cp_ because those TFC mechanics could stay locked only to new one)
