#1 Home town videos in Off Topic

I'm interested to find out what people think about my home area, maybe I'm not alone in this
What sort of content do you get? What do people say about your area?

I see a couple walking tours and comments about "Scary smethwick" or flytipping

#5 Need help with upgrading in Hardware
BaconBlitzThe gap between 240 and 360 refresh rate is negligible. A decent 360hz monitor costs about as much as super good 240hz monitor
A Good Example.

Another inexpensive sleeper upgrade you can get is going a generation up to a 5600x. I also agree, RAM upgrades are pretty important, as already said, ryzen likes super fast ram. A little pricey for ram, but this would be ideal.

ur gpu is a beast btw, use that shit into the ground, upgrade when it dies

edit: thats ddr5 ram, so disregard that unless u plan on upgrading ur mobo as well to support it (Which i'd recommend)

The link to the ram sticks doesn't work btw. Also can I get any ddr4 ram that is atleast 3000 mhz and around cl15 or is it more sensitive on what ram I get?

maraudeRyou would get more value out of your CPU by RMAing your mobo and just upgrading RAM. Ryzen really likes fast RAM and your 5700XT is probably fine unless you really want to upgrade.

I do want to upgrade my ram but they dont sell these exact ram sticks anymore, and im not sure how well different ddr4 sticks with different timings and speed will work. I don't want to go do any bios stuff, preferably just plug in and play

#1 Need help with upgrading in Hardware

I'm deciding on whether to fix my current mobo with RMA or just get a new one, aswell as upgrading certain parts in my PC. Not looking for 1440p+ gaming, just want very high 1080p gaming maybe at 240hz/360hz.

turbochad69RahmedMobo = B450-A pro max
Usb = 64gb (56gb shown on file explorer) exFat (only option to format besides NTFS)
This is probably your issue, the filesystem almost definitely has to be FAT32, and you'll want to use an MBR not GPT. Most people recommend a 16GB or smaller drive, but 64 will probably be fine and you could always try making the partition smaller than 16GB if it still doesn't work. Google should be able to walk you through how to get it formatted correctly. It's also worth trying a USB 2.0 drive if you're using a USB 3 one.RahmedMobo = B450-A pro max
If worse comes to worst and I find it's bricked, is there a recommended better motherboard I can buy?
You'll never need to buy a new motherboard in the case of a corrupted bios, in the absolute worst case you can use an external SPI programmer to flash a working bios firmware onto the chip, it's a quick and easy process if you have the tools available or know someone who does. If not, any repair shop will also be able to do it for you.

I don't trust brum repair shops, just had a phone call with msi and they suggested to post my mobo to their tech place in poland. Paying for the shipment and repair would be about £25, might be costly but seems reasonable to me

Tomorrow I will strip my motherboard until only the power is connected (have been trying to update with cpu/gpu/ram still in) and phone up msi help.

If worse comes to worst and I find it's bricked, is there a recommended better motherboard I can buy?

#9 msi bios/HDD help in Hardware

Quick update: been following this guide and it turns out, for my Ryzen 5 3600 cpu I need an older bios file than the one I downloaded (the one on my usb is for newer cpu's ig). I still get a solid light with the correct bios file now

The guide in question: https://youtu.be/PdKKDt3Fgfk

jyrkasthe bios flashback function can be a little finicky, follow this tutorial and double check everything, make sure everything is right, check that you're plugging it into to the correct USB port and also make sure your USB is formatted to FAT32 or even try multiple flash drives

Done all that, fat32 and renaming- I had a white light flashing instead of red but now it's a solid white colour. Not sure what to do now

DivineAThope you have a BIOS button on your motherboard, otherwise you're out of luck and you probably bricked it

I have a flash bios button, which I pressed with the usb stick connected to my pc.
It flashed 3 times and did nothing else

#1 msi bios/HDD help in Hardware

I did a fresh install of windows 11 and I can't find my HDD in disk management (it's my backup drive, I have an m.2 SSD for my main C drive). Some online remedies suggested to update the BIOS, so after installing the update file on my usb and entering the msi bios menu - I clicked on m flash and then my screen went black (usb still in).

I was expecting some sort window that would select the file from my usb and a screen that shows it's updating the bios, but my screen was black - monitor going into standby. I turned my pc off and on again, but it was the same - even without the usb stick in. Not sure if the motherboard is bricked or not, but maybe somebody has experience in this

#1 rahThread: Imagine ping cut by 1/10 in TF2 General Discussion

Suppose we invent some technology that can minimise ping so much, the max anyone can get is 40 ping
How would this change the tf2 comp scene?
Would people be more lenient in scrimming teams at flexible times instead of the usual 19/20/21 or 8:30/9:30/10:30?
Would this also kill some leagues in the future, maybe a few league merges?
