It did, yes. A lot of competitive players were wishing the two buffs would be separated to two different weapons for quite a while, iirc.

Of course you should. The more competitive content, the better.
And yes, reddit is a clear reflector of the general attitudes of the player base. Ever since I have started shoutcasting and pushing for more marketing of comp TF2, I've seen reddit get more and more excited about competitive games, especially the big news. It's gone from "if you aren't casual, get out" to "let's put a guide on comp TF2 in the sidebar."
The more content that is shown to the casual player base about competitive TF2, the more their attitudes will shift.
infinite-My opinion, no matter how unpopular, of how competitive TF2 has evolved over time directly relates to the wrangler ban because it is just one example of the numerous game content bans (weapons, items, classes) exhibited in 6v6 which I PERSONALLY believe has limited it's potential. While people are crying foul and telling me I make the league look bad for expressing my opinions they still ignore my simple questions.
By posting your opinions to the competitive player base as a known head admin of the UGC league, you are representing UGC league at all times. You can claim that some opinions are personal, but even personal opinions still reflect on you and your management of UGC.
The conversation that you are fostering here does nothing but encourage anger and resentment towards you from many of the elite players here. Whether you feel it's fair to associate your opinions with UGC or not, that's what the players here will do. If you want the league to appear more professional, your personal opinions need to go into hiding or be expressed much more diplomatically. Trying to make such a large change to your reputation will, of course, take time but if you want the league to be taken more seriously here, the first step towards that reputation is to stop posting in this thread.
True story. I'll poke eXtine to get the MoG's and such posted there. Anyone else who does frag videos, this is your market for sure.
I imagine longer vids from high-level players, especially vids that are both informative and entertaining, can do very well.

The new steam community and all its social aspects give us a nice way to let the general playerbase in on more competitive TF2 happenings. Link your YouTube account with your steam account there and post your vids to the site.
Popularity on the community site right now seems to be very simple - the more thumbs up, the higher your video appears on the "videos" page. So if you check back once every two or three days and thumbs-up all the competitive related stuff, or get your friends to rate your vids up, it's more likely that we'll see more competitive content in the top slots.
edit: and yes this obviously helps me if you do it to my vids. I don't want it to be seen solely as me begging for more views, though. Demo reviews by high-level players, or any other vid you guys put out there related to comp, will be great to see at the top of the page.
edit round 2: Just looked at my YouTube analytics and I don't even see any views from the steam community site. Maybe tomorrow they'll show up but I seriously doubt I'd get more than a hundred.
Want a player at a high skill level to review your demo? Or just at a higher skill level than you? Then post in here! Please use the following template:
--Name
--Steam Profile URL
--Class (pocket or roamer for solly)
--Preferred skill of reviewer (can range from "any" to "high only." Try to use the low-mid-high designations.)
--Link to POV demo
Example:
--Salamancer
--http://steamcommunity.com/id/ViceroyBubblesvonSalamancer
--Medic
--Low+ or above
--www.purple.com
MONITOR THIS THREAD IF YOU POST IN IT!! If you accept a review offer, please edit your post to let others know you're working with someone.
It's a forum thread, so in the rules of whatever thread gets posted, they could tell posters to request a specific skill level or higher. So if it's a total noob, I'm sure they wouldn't mind low-mid pointers.
I'm not discussing the policy itself. Just informing Crossfire that the deletion of his thread isn't evidence of anything other than the policy already in place.
The UGC admins have already stated they won't discuss their cheat review process. Based on that policy, it's easy to understand why they would delete your thread.
Cool. I just don't want to be the one required to poke the mid-high players and remind them to review demos. Hoping someone else can start the thread and take that minor burden, because it'd be neat to see.
CEVO's old website was awful beyond belief. That probably contributed. I did what I could to help dubel_07 promote the CEVO league while he was there, but even back then I complained to him about the site. Of course, there was nothing he could do to change it.
#20 I'll post the demo when I get home. We didn't have 5 other people to do it - I think half were dead, I had just respawned, and it was a desperation play. As soon as the enemy uber wore off and the med retreated (or was killed, I forget) I ran back to switch to med. Never left the last point, really.
Does the "D" stand for "dipshit" as in "Sal why do you still play this game you dipshit?"
You don't use cmd to get around a firewall. You use proxies. A simple google search for proxy sites can get you what you want, but be very careful which site you use. I'd probably wait until someone here says what they use before going to any.
I remember using a dutch proxy at one point, but I can't find it anymore.
Would any mid-high players be willing to check a demo review thread once a week and pick a random person's demo to offer tips on?
