Can we talk about how good that trailer was? I hate videogame trailers that don't show gameplay, I hate most trailers in general, but this one got me psyched.

Spent a lot of time in TF2 during college that may have been better applied elsewhere
capnfapnSpiritr3ap3rHow about a "hub" so to speak, similar to dota where watching games is extremely easy to do, and possibly limiting it to ESEA IM, Invite, and Platinum HL. This, in my mind would help to get more people watching, and hopefully more people playing.
yeah and they should call it teamfortress.tv oh wait
I think that tf2 really needs a true newbie league. even the majority of people in ugc 6v6 steel are better than the average pubber. we need a ugc iron 6v6 division.
Another thing i think we should do is have noobs only DM servers. practicing DM is pretty hard for newer players because everybody in MGE is going to rape them and their souls and everybody in soap DM is better than 99% of the people that they've ever played. You probably get better faster if you're playing people 100x better than you but its also ridiculously frustrating when your kdr is 8:50. It will probably be tricky to regulate, but a place where baddies can fight other baddies in order to get less bad wouldn't be a bad thing. wow thats a lot of bads.
The first time I ever used MGE I lost 20-0 to Loronix who played a shotgun only soldier. I was expecting to perform poorly and didn't worry about it, but I did feel genuinely bad to have wasted somebody else's time like that and as such did not try to MGE again for a long while. And I've heard similar comments from other people.
Opera and Chrome failed, but Torch came through for me. Thanks!
Sorry if this is the wrong subforum, I wasn't entirely sure what was the most appropriate.
Anyways, I'm trying to reset my password. I follow the link in the email which brings me to a page with two spaces. One of the spaces contains the key I was sent, and the other is where I'm supposed to write in the captcha verification. Unfortunately, I'm given no captcha image to transcribe. Is something going wrong here or am I a complete moron? Or both?
I didn't want to make another account on ESEA to get help there, so I'm hoping I can just use this to get help.
I feel like a ban just isn't the same without dozens of pictures of Enigma dunking on the offender.
panzerxiiiI love baseball, I'm a Yankees fan (boo hiss).
Is MLB.tv worth it? I never got it because it was sort of pricey. I'd like to watch more games though.
My roommate and I split it, so for us it was definitely worth it. Being able to watch split screen is really nice, I've caught something like 10 games in the day and a half since the real season started. The blackout on area teams is a downside though. I live in the Bay Area and I'm a LA fan, and my roommate's a Brewers fan, but whenever either of those teams play the Giants or A's it's blacked out. I've been watching the Dodgers on a stream of a Japanese sports channel which works well enough, but it's still disappointing MLB.tv won't run it.
So if you're outside the region of your primary team, it's probably worth it. If you have the time to watch the games, it's worth it. It's worth it just to leave on in the background as you do other stuff.
Any of you follow baseball? Real opening day is today, some pretty good games on. Dodgers v. Giants, Yankees v. Red Sox, and a few more. I'm staying home today and watching them split-screen on my TV. Unfortunately, MLB.tv doesn't show in-market games, which means I can't watch the most important one for me (Dodgers thumping the Giants.)
But it's still baseball, good wholesome clean fun. Watching the Brewers right now, and I'm also watching Strasbourg and Bryce Harper tear the Marlins a new one. Just found out I'll be in DC over the summer, so I'm trying to start following the Nationals. The Dodgers will always be my first love though.
Anybody else watching or following?
I've always wanted to run a used bookstore/small-scale cafe that turns into a low key bar/restaurant at night. I have some experience with bartending and I like cooking, and as long as I own the establishment and cook whatever I feel like instead of offering people a choice, I'd be up for it. Serve decent teas and some coffee during the day, have some nice armchairs to let people sit and rest for a while, then move the furniture around for the evening.
It's impossible for such a venture to make money, but it's the dream.
I'm going on a roadtrip into Canada with 9 female friends of mine. We're doing a mixture of camping and clubbing and stuff. It should be a little strange but fun.
I guess I'll be a voice of the opposition here. I really liked Skyrim. I don't even like videogames that much anymore but I still think Skyrim is worth the purchase. My poor broken laptop ran it at literally 5 frames per second, rendering any build outside of stealth impossible, but I still logged 200+ hours or so without ever getting past the second mission of the main quest. In fact, the only questlines I did play to completion were the Thieves' Guild and the Dark Brotherhood. I didn't touch any other factions. Mainly, I just walked around and found my own amusement. It works really well as a sandbox. If you're the type of person who can find your own motivation, it'll keep you occupied for a long long time.
Haven't played Fallout 3, so I can't make a comparison.
I did play and love Stalker: Call of Pripyat. My only qualm with CoP was its length, I would have preferred content enough to make a decent sized sandbox. What content was there, however, was excellent and one of the best games I've played in recent memory.
"The regime of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un 'will perish from the Earth' if it attacks South Korea with nuclear weapons, Seoul's defense minister said Friday."
China is interested in preserving the status quo and talking NK down from a ledge if they get to that point, but I think people overestimate the amount of influence China has with the NK government. China is their largest ally, but NK has resisted foreign influence over their policy, no matter the source.
That being said, the NK leadership likely isn't literally insane and I don't foresee a nuclear strike unless they feel they have no other option. For NK, maintaining a nuclear programme has important effects outside of the obvious offensive military applications. If NK didn't have any WMDs and didn't have their entire artillery aimed at Seoul, how long do you think the regime would last before the U.S. or UN destroyed it? NK's nukes are likely defensive in nature, a warning of what could happen if they're pushed too far. It's their last line of defense. Once NK uses its nukes, the regime's life expectancy will fall precipitously.
Secondly, NK's hopes of reunification rest largely on the relative power balace between NK and SK. SK has a much stronger economy, so any reunification deal cut right now would likely favour the SK leadership and leave the NK leadership in the dust. However, the NK leadership can leverage their nuclear programme to retain elements of power in any potential unified Korea.
So yeah. Not sure what I'm getting at here, but I'm sure I had a point.

VoodooChowOK so I'm pretty sure this girl is playing hard to get. Last week we were sending flirty texts and flirting in class and stuff. Everything was going great and we planned to go see a movie with some friends (another guy and girl) But this past week, we haven't spoken much. I would text her and she wouldn't reply and we haven't been talking in school either. But just last night we were skypeing and things were going pretty well. So I know she's playing games with me. We're going to see a movie tomorrow night. How should I act?
Sometimes girls have things going on, are busy, or don't immediately respond to texts. In my experience, it's usually not supposed to be a hidden message about how she feels about you, despite what stories would have you believe. So don't worry about it. Go and have a great movie, and maybe ask her how things are going.
