ompThe archival tool shouldn't make a difference.

I believe the problem is Notepad not handling the newline characters properly. Try an editor that's not complete shit.
WithADanceNumbernotepad++
do it.

I will try that out. Thanks guys.
Edit: It worked with Notepad++

#35 Getting Into Competitive TF2 in Q/A Help

So I played my first game at tf2lobby.com today and I have to say that it was pretty bad. No one was communicating and a lot of people dropped out within 10 minutes.

sonnyjaboyBut erm, enough about that. Definitely chill in Newbie Mixes and Power Pugs, you can meet some cool peeps and possibly find a team. And do UGC if you want to join a team to start building your competitive experience and relationships with peeps.

Psssst, hope you'll come to love TF2 tons. <3 Like me.

I will definitely check out some Power Pugs and maybe even see if I can start a team but the fact that none of friends play TF2 or have any interest in TF2 I would have to find people online.

london_callingfor now maybe just check out the old mge videos on adamskyride's youtube: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLD098F81F2CA74F00

Those videos are really useful. Thanks!

32hzI'm in the same exact position as you, thats cool

Hey, maybe we can play together some time!

KoobadoobsESEA is pay-to-play, has better rewards, and a higher skill level.
UGC is free, more newbie friendly, gives hardly any prizes at all, and has a more controversial map list.

Thanks for the info!

#9 Getting Into Competitive TF2 in Q/A Help

Alright so I think I'm going to go with lobbies, DM, and MGE first to get better. Then once I get better I will try out some #tf2.pug.na and Power Pugs.

Thanks guys!

Also if you don't mind me asking what is the difference between ESEA and UGC?

#1 Getting Into Competitive TF2 in Q/A Help

Hello people of TeamFortress.TV!

Before I get into the main point of this thread I thought I'd take a second to introduce myself. My name's Saully and I have lurking around TF.TV for some time now and thought I'd finally get around to asking about how I should get into competitive TF2. I have watching a ton of streams and even playing my first Newbie Mix last weekend as a Scout.

Now my question is what do I do now? I really enjoyed playing 6v6 last Saturday with a bunch of newbies but only got to play 2 matches on cp_badlands. Although I did pretty well I don't feel that I am ready for PUGs yet. So should I just start playing PUGs or should I wait for the next newbie mix?
