I use a Ducky Year of the Dragon Limited, and I love it.
Red Switches, per-key backlighting.
Unfortunately, nearly impossible to find now.

Awesome keyboard, red switches but not backlit.

A more common one I've used is the Razer Blackwidow.
I haven't tried their supposedly silent version, but mine was really loud.
I'm biased against most razer things, so I won't say much.

As for "what kind of switches", I can only speak for playing games, I don't actually type with mine, I have a dvorak typematrix for that (http://www.typematrix.com/).
Red switches work fine for me for things like FPSes, but I wouldn't pick them for some things, like MOBAS. Reds are sensitive enough that the weight of your finger can depress a key, which can be really bad if that key is your 3-minute cooldown ult.

Not to mention almost no servers run replay.

Sometimes, nothing is funner than wandering through a random pub. Not the best clip in the world, but the best I got on a server with replay.

I have an orbweaver, the mechanical pad from razer.
It was a cool idea, but didn't have enough keys, no good place to put it (keyboard was already in the way) etc etc.
Razer Synapse is also a horrifying piece of software in my opinion.

I still use it, but it sits on my floor and i hit the space button with my foot as mumble push to talk.

MGE is probably partially to blame for that, it can mess up some stuff with the insta-spawn-did-you-actually-die stuff.

Too bad the crosshair switcher is purposefully obfuscated, or it might be easy to fix the latter problem. From shorten.cfg:

I majored in SIMULATION AND GAME DESIGN.

Then realized what a horrible idea that was :(

I used to use something like that, I had movement keys also do "r_drawviewmodel 0" and weapon switches do "r_drawviewmodel 1".

The goal was to see what weapon was being pulled out, but not see it when fighting.

If that's what you're looking for then Gek is right, all you need is "r_drawviewmodel 1"

Why does the logo look like goatse?

I'm a sucker for hardware/input devices, here's my experiences:

1. Started with my laptop keyboard, wasn't happy with it but it worked.
2. Got a Typematrix Dvorak, which is great for typing on (using it now), but not what I would recommend for gaming purposes (especially the dvorak part).
3. Was interested in the whole mechanical bandwagon, so purchased a Razer Blackwidow from my local BestBuy, greatly enjoyed the mechanical part but the blues were too loud for me.
4. Ordered a Gigabyte Aivia Osmium off NewEgg with red switches, has nice backlighting and volume controls (though i still mostly use my typematrix for that), very nice keys but the keyboard is a bit on the large side (first world problems).
5. Bought a Filco Majestouch-2 Ninja TKL with red switches, a very nice small keyboard that sounds and types excellent (and looks really cool with the ninja caps, keys are marked on the front), but has no backlighting. Its what I use now, unless I can find a Ducky that isn't sold out...

This is my experience with keyboards, don't get me started on mice and headsets :<
