Quality guy, great gamer! Would recommend to an open team as demo. He is also very organized and would never miss a scrim.
Much luck,

Much luck,
Used to play mixes with mahh all the time. Great med.
Jayguess i'm too late rip
rip. There'll be more tourneys in the future, so stay tuned
WhippedCreamHave any plans on scheduling tourneys for PM? I've always wanted to get into melee but PM is newer and fresher.
Don't think we'll be hosting PM tourneys any time soon, sorry.
ChaChican the tourney be stream or is that like impossible?
Most of the time, unless the two people have good internet and live near eachother, it will cause too much lag.
Many of the people that have joined so far are fairly new to competitive smash. Of course there are a few people who have a lot of experience with smash, and I'm hoping that we can teach the newcomers a lot. Checking Smashboards forums and watching streams/youtube videos of tournaments is a good place to learn from the pros.
1 more person needed to start the first tourney! We'll be starting next week.
My mumble channel went wild when mega man hit his final smash.
First tourney signups are now! Check the announcements tab in the group page to sign up.
mthsadi just bought a gamecube controller adapter for another game. used to play ssbm with friends a long time ago, havent played recently and will probably be terrible and awful. i'm located in socal if that helps.
Anywhere in the U.S. should work. When tournaments start, I'll do my best to arrange people so they don't have to play someone on the other side of the country.
KhakiI've never tried it but I've heard online melee/PM is a massively different game from regular lan, due to having latency fuck over trying to do technical shit, is this true?
From personal experience, being in Oregon and playing with someone in Alabama is usually alright. I might get a couple lag spikes during a set. Obviously the game won't run as cleanly as it would on LAN, but it works pretty well imo.
Playing doubles though is insanely laggy, so 2-on-2 tournaments won't be hosted.
DeepWhen would these tourneys be hosted?
What I was thinking could happen would be that 1 (or maybe 2) match(es) would be hosted each week. They could be played anytime during the week, so you would need to check to roster to see you are playing against and coordinate a date and time with them. So to answer your question, anytime in a 1 week period that works for both players. I'm planning to start the first tournament when we get 16 people in the group who are able to participate.
More information will be posted to the group page regarding rules/scheduling very soon.
Just so it's on the record; tournaments will never have an entry fee.
Hello everyone,
If you are not aware, Super Smash Brothers Melee is a unique fighting game released on the GameCube in late 2001. Over the years, a competitive scene has grown, especially in the United States. Using the Dolphin emulator system, it is possible to play with anyone in the world. Similarly to the TF2:CSGO group that started a while ago, I thought it would be fun to see how many people would be interested in being apart of this group. Double elimination bracket tournaments would be hosted regularly on people's convenience. People would also always be welcome to post announcements if they were looking for someone to play against for fun or for practice.
For more information and to learn how to set up the emulator, you can join the group page here: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/tf2ssbm
Or talk to me on Steam: http://steamcommunity.com/id/selcchaboi
I'm looking forward to starting up something fun and meeting some new people!
