#1 wG Fundraiser RCADIA Fortress TF2 Lan in LAN Discussion

Hello,

Coming off the back of our first offline event in three years, it's safe to say that the European scene is currently experiencing a renewed excitement to compete at the top level, with many new teams forming and practicing already a month prior to the next ETF2L season. This excitement is not only limited to the players, but also tournament organizers looking to hold more offline competitions as well.

Witness Gaming EU will be attending the RCADIA Fortress TF2 Community Lan taking place from the 25th to the 27th of November. We are hoping to raise £1000 to help alleviate the costs of attending. Any excess donations will go towards future events.

Our Estimated Costs:
British player total costs: £1520
Ixy’s total costs: £500
Mulaa’s total costs: £400

We have generously already received £450 from Witness himself which has been a big help.

Below are a few incentives we can offer to those generous enough to donate:
£10 - Item signing from a player of your choice.
£25 - A 1 on 1 demo review from a player of your choice.
£50 - A Witness Gaming shirt signed by our roster at lan (3 Available). Please only claim if you will be attending the lan.

Donation Link

If you choose to donate, please provide us with your discord tag along with the incentive you are claiming.

Witness Gaming merch can be purchased here.

We are excited to compete and we hope to see a strong turnout for the event!

#322 Updating cp_snakewater in Map Discussion
chojjeDomoCatFaceI think that having the taller building on mid for both sides would probably be better than having the shorter one just because it makes certain bombs easier. (I think it was the blu side on the current version of snake we use?)

Is more available bombs a strictly good thing?

Considering the mid on this map already discourages being aggressive with nothing to block vision I think having more options is good

#14 Unifed Ruleset Discussion in TF2 General Discussion

I won't speak on the ruleset but I frequently see people describe rulesets as correct or incorrect ways of playing when the reality is there is no objectively correct competitive ruleset and if you think that there are aspects that are "objectively true" then sadly you are the people who will delay any real progress in actually obtaining a global ruleset. If you have only played eu rules then its more likely that you will think that if you are up at the end of regulation time you deserve to win where as na players may feel you haven't won until you've capped 5 but both are valid and have produced great games. I think there are some players in both major regions who need to be more open because holding these strong beliefs about how the rules should look just limits any real change.

#38 iron bombe nerf for etf2l season 41 in TF2 General Discussion

Comparing the frustration of dying to a funny stock roller to the absurd upgrade in a demos ability to defend himself with giant pipe hitbox is laughable

#21 Why is Badlands not in any big league map pools? in TF2 General Discussion

All the complaints here are a result of not playing the map enough. Weird how players who played the map can hold last and push out properly because they played it as much as the other maps?

#24 The flaws of 6's in TF2 General Discussion

Stalemates are a result of neither team having a reason to be the aggressor in an equal situation. I personally would be hesitant to call stalemates and slow gameplay a flaw because having the time to set up plays is some of the more interesting tactical decisions you get to make in this game. Koth doesn't have this problem as one team is always pressured but tf2 doesn't have a depth of tactical choices like csgo to make this actually interesting which leaves koth to be the most shallow type of map in the pool.

I think regardless of what other game mode you try that has a clear attack and defending side you will see a similar outcome. This is all forgetting that this game is purely played for fun and I don't think most people got in to 6v6 to play heavy all game.
