#4 Plat/Gold HL Team LF Soldier in Recruitment (looking for team)

Also I thought you were on a 6s team this season? Isn't this you? http://play.esea.net/users/494322

No one in 6s will be able to play with that scrim schedule, to be honest you'd probably have a better chance on the ugc forums, teamfortress.tv is still extremely 6s focused and people aren't willing to put in that much time into ugc after they've already paid to get to play in ESEA.

#1 A Beginners Guide to - The Vaccinator in TF2 General Discussion

Having played with the new medigun for 4 hours now I'd like to point out a few things.

1. Using this medigun promotes aggressive play, while it does build uber faster both of the other mediguns are better once they have charge. Therefore when you are using this medigun you want to push quickly, or you will be punished for not taking a different medigun.

2. Due to the lowered buff rate you seem to have -150 to -200 health for the midfight compared to a normal medigun. However, you build at least 1 charge (on some maps 2) before the midfight starts if your medic has really good micro and shifts his resistance well you could balance out the health disadvantage by stopping a roamer from hurting your team or saving people from demo damage.

3. The Vaccinator adds a level of depth to the medic, this medigun is much worse than the other options if you aren't skilled. Being able to quickly react and deny damage will be the only way to turn this medigun into an advantage, rather than a disadvantage. Allowing this in competitive gives a new layer of skill in each engagement, and personally rekindled some of my passion for the class.

4. As the previous point touched on, this medigun makes medic FUN. You have to be focused, you have to be quick, you need to know who to prioritize and how to push to take advantage of negating damage types. This made medic something fun, and made it a challenging experience.

5. This weapon is still not OP though, if you are smart you can easily take out a team running this, having your team be extremely aggressive in the mid will give you a large advantage because you can focus down the other players before the medic pops, since everyone on the team running this has much less health than normal.

6. Demos by necessity have to be a half second slower to midfights because their 260 buff comes out slower. Not a huge deal, but still a thing to be noted, also, even with critheals it will take much longer to heal up your pocket.

7. Mixing up your positioning will be very important, and movement/surfing doubly so, this medigun doesn't make you invulnerable, you need to play it smart. Not to say that it's horrible like the Quick Fix, if you pop the Explosive damage reduction even 5 stick traps won't kill you. This also makes team focus fire more important, because the main way to counter this is to get both bullet and explosive damage onto the medic at the same time.

8. The best thing about this medigun is when you have bullet resistance selected you can't be quick-scoped or full charge body-shotted, you'll survive with 5 health.

That's all for right now folks, I hope you enjoy experimenting with this excellent addition to the game in some PUGs, and giving it the opportunity to prove itself.

Helpful tips from others:

Nixnyte
if you do not have a mouse3 or already have something bound to it, i personally found binding +attack3 on top of my slot 2 key to be very comfortable. what i mean is, for me, pressing E switches to the medigun if it's not out, but if it is, it instead changes the resistance type

just something to consider since i've heard some complaints about mouse3 tonight

#31 Team looking for IM team to kick our shit in in Mentoring
dfy@ OP, if your team is struggling and you cant really pinpoint what the problem is, request a demo review of a good scrim and/or match from PYYYYOUR or bl4nk, they'd be able to give tons of feedback on what problems you might be facing as a team whether its dm, focusing targets, pushes, holds etc you'll be able to break it down much more than just getting straight outplayed on every position from a better team.

Thing is we're NOT struggling versus open and I believe that it's better to do a scrim that ends 5-2 for them than a scrim where you 5-0. I know demo reviews and we do that as well, and we all are aware of the ability to send in a demo to cyzer, b4lnk, or pyyour, hell I have most of them added so I can ask them questions. This is about us wanting something more than demos, something tangible where we can see how we stack up versus a team at the beginning of the season and see our progress versus them throughout the season. Guided along by their expertise.

MR_SLINdope-wolfAre you saying there is nothing to learn from the way top players DM?
?? Dope wolf are you serious lol you're changing what the OP said, and you're changing what I said.

I am saying, for the time spent from BOTH teams involved, scrimming a team in a different division is not worth it. He's asking for "an IM team or above" and I doubt any IM or invite team would want to participate in this. If his team is high open they might be able to scrim low IM teams, but past that this isn't a good use of time, and I was trying to let them know this up front.

You only get a couple hours per day to scrim with your team against other teams. Spend that time wisely. Then, take time outside of scrims to review demos. This is the most productive thing to do, and spending your limited time getting rolled by an invite team won't be as effective.

Of course it won't be any help to the team playing against us, that why I posted this to the mentor thread, if I really wanted to play versus an IM team I could just go to IRC and find one. But this is about getting a mentor team, my team just has different needs than the standard STV review.

danaThere are a few things you need to understand when you play a team significantly better than your own:

-One scrim of it is kind of entertaining, a lot of it over an extended period of time gets real old real quick
-Rounds will consist mainly of short, futile midfights and last holds with full uber disadvantage
-The stress level will increase which tends to spark nasty arguments and general negativity even among teams that really enjoy playing together

I think Slin is right and wrong. He's right that you don't learn anything from just getting steamrolled. High IM teams are going to get away with things against you that you will not be able to get away with against your opponents in open. And even if you do manage to come up with solid counters for their sloppy play, at the end of the day all you have managed to do is learn how to deal with sloppy play.

Now if you manage to find a high level team that will steamroll you and then sit in mumble with you and watch the STV (STVs are imperative) and give you advice, that's a different story. That's a long-term, whole-team mentor program, and if there were a shortcut to getting good at tf2 (there isn't) it would be that. They can point out specific things that your team is doing at mid or while defending last that need improvement.

If you want to get steamrolled, my advice would be to get steamrolled by a team that will mentor you as well.

This guy gets what I meant. I understand that we'd get rolled at the beginning but that's the whole point.

Slin I appreciate the concern, no one wants to see another team die, but to be frank Slin you don't know my team, and you don't know how we respond to pressure. We want to play a team incredibly solid that can stomp us, on a regular basis. Emphasis on regular, I believe what you say is true when it's a oneoff occasion. However when you play with someone willing to treat you seriously (even if it just makes them beat you harder) on a consistent basis, you can improve dramatically.

To any people looking at this thread considering it, we aren't the type of guys to get discouraged and be done with this in a week.

We are dedicated, we are improving, we want your help.

MR_SLINNot sure this is the best idea. When you play a team in a different division they'll beat you in DM on every single class and get away with stuff that a team of equal level could not get away with. For example, they might push at a time that is unappropriate, or win a fight on the flank that they shouldn't.

I suggest you find a partner team at your own skill level.

Our DM isn't the issue though, we've played low IM teams and we are pretty equal in terms of straight DM, we want to improve other aspects of play that more experienced eyes will be able to help us with.

Tune Squad is looking for an IM or above team that is willing to spend 30 minutes a week or so destroying an open team and then pointing out the problems you see and what we could do to fix them.

TF2_MooseheinLOL! What is this about me being cut?
Aww, come on Hein, saying ts is disbanding isn't as fun as calling you a bad medic
kiriharbleu is an invite medic. i don't think anyone should be surprised that he's better at the class than someone who has only ever played a much less competitive game format >.>
Not sure if IM counts

#1 Femme, please, my heart can't take this... in TF2 General Discussion

For context : http://pastebin.com/u0k7Sasg

Put your worries aside for a minute. Look into my eyes and tell me what's going through your mind. Don't let other people sway your decision. If you love me as much as you say, prove it to me in every way. Our families have their own opinions. Everybody wants to rule the world but it's up to us to pull away. Let's be honest with each other. The color of our skin shouldn't matter. Love is a powerful emotion. One that we can't control. We never could even as kids. We've always been the best of friends, we've changed each other's lives in so many wonderful ways. We should not have to set a limit on love. Let's take our relationship to the next level, become a family and leave this all behind us because in the end it will only be you and me. No one else matters and I know that as the years go by we'll have our share of problems but we'll learn to get through them. We'll find a way to stay in love because we always have in the past.
You entered my life like a gentle sigh, a quiet breeze blowing softly through my world. You decorated my life with the colors of your heart. You never let me down and deep inside I know that our love will keep us together. Our friendship has always been our foundation. It is something so precious and true, one that I will never take advantage of. I love you more than you could ever know. Within my heart and in my mind you have always been the one that I turn to and let me reassure you can count on me too. As I stand here before you on bended knee, I want you to know that I am willing to sacrifice. I will do whatever it takes to make you mine. You are the reason that I wake each day. Your name is written all over the walls of my heart and I treasure every moment that we spend together. Please take this ring and promise that you'll spend the rest of your life with me let me hold you close to my heart. Together we will rise above it all and in time they will learn to accept us. This is our life and our choice. We owe it to ourselves to be happy with every breath that I take each day I am going to make you know how much I care. I have always loved you and I always will. So please hold me and look into my eyes open up your heart and soul to me. Let's not waste another moment in worry and fear as I hold you and touch your heart. There is one thing that I have to know. Will you marry me?
