#2 Hud Crosshairs in Q/A Help
ErenJayCan Hud crosshairs be perfectly accurate? I installed a scout crosshair, with little dots and stuff, but even after I adjusted it to my resolution by changing the y values, the centre dot does not match up with the tf2 crosshair. Cs that normal, or am I missing something?

Try to adjust the tall and wide values too. As long as you're not on a really strange res HUD crosshairs should be perfectly accurate if you adjusted them right.

jp_I'd have to question your "•I've set my windows 7 settings to optimal performance"

are you playing highlander/6s/32 pubs? Why the fuck isn't there a tf2 benchmark yet. WHY.

Well basically it makes your windows look shitty as f*ck. But I have't activated those settings on my new pc.

I'm playing HL/6s and 24 player pubs.

#38 Low FPS in Q/A Help
DamnKeto-full -w 1920 -h 1080 -console -novid -useforcedmparms -noforcemaccel -noforcemspd -nocrashdialog -nojoy -noipx -nocdaudio -high -heapsize 2097152 -freq 120When u set TF2 at a different priority than normal will decrease a bit ur FPSs, -heapsize now doesn't work, I don't know what -nocdaudio does but imo is totaly irrelevant cuz I never tested it, noipx doesn't work as well, try to play with -dxlevel 81 using chris' highframes cfg, play in fake-fullscreen. Now ur launch options are:-win -noborder -w 1920 -h 1080 -console -novid -useforcedmparms -noforcemaccel -noforcemspd -nocrashdialog -nojoy -freq 120 -nod3d9exP.S.: use -nod3d9ex only if u're using Mumble and u want to enable in-game overlay, it will work now.

Well with my new pc I changed my launch options into:
-dxlevel 81 -sw -noborder -w 1920 -h 1080 -console -novid

Still this pc should destroy tf2...

#36 Low FPS in Q/A Help
testifyI get 200-400fps with chris dx 9 config.

Setup is

i5 3570K stock
16gb DDR3 RAM
670 GT
120 gb SSD
2TB western digital for storage

D:

Anyways my fps drops are really strange because on some maps I get absurdly high fps(I just played jump_QuBa with 1700-2000fps...) and then there are maps like swiftwater, upward and ofcourse hightower where my fps are freaking low...

#32 Low FPS in Q/A Help

Ok I'm reviving this thread because I have no idea why my new pc with a i7 3770K and a GTX670 does still have fps drops from 400-500 to around 100fps. I mean I am using chris highframes config with a pc that should destroy tf2 and I still get "low fps"...

#8 Crosshair switching for custom crosshairs? in Q/A Help
obe_SolidSpeerlaiyeobe_I know all about tf2mate's crosshair switcher but I use omphud and his custom crosshair with an added "pulse" effect so that the crosshair turns red when I hit an enemy.
So hitsound and dmg text is not enough?

I play soldier so I don't always see damage text (spam from around corners etc). Mumble comms during serious play and music during casual pubbing blocks out my hitsound sometimes. It's just my preference D:

Mh makes sense

OafmealWith my 3570k, and gtx 460 I get 300+ during mid fights running dx9.

That sounds alright :> Do you have OC'd your rig?

brownymastermasterfulThat rig will make TF2 its bitch. If a $1k+ computer doesn't 5 years after release, then you've built a bad computer.

True dat.

hookyWhy a WLAN card, I'd hope you wouldn't need to use it on a desktop...

Well I use WLAN for about 5years now... I should get LAN in about 3-5months but until this glory day I am forced to use a WLAN card.

hookyThat rig will make TF2 its bitch.

Sounds good :> Does anyone else got a comparable system? And if yes, how much fps do you get while gaming? Also should I consider overclocking the rig or will it be enough for tf2 without that?

#18 Low FPS in Q/A Help

So I finally decided to save up for a new pc :>

CPU: Intel Core i5 Intel Core i5-3570K
CPU-cooler: Thermalright True Spirit 120
Mainboard: Z75 Chipsatz ASRock Z75 Pro3
RAM: 8GB-Kit G.Skill PC3-10667U CL9
GPU: GTX 670 2GB EVGA GeForce GTX 670
Hard drive: 1000GB, 7200RPM Seagate Barracuda EcoGreen F3 1000GB
SDD: 128GB SSD Samsung SSD 830 128GB
disk drives: DVD Brenner LiteOn iHAS122
case: Lancool PC-K58
power supply: Antec HCG-520 520W
+ A random W-LAN card.

This PC should be able to run TF2 with more than 150fps right? :3 I also thought about replacing the GTX 670 with a HD7950. Any thoughts on that?

#47 The 120Hz Monitor Thread in Hardware
SAO_Try putting -refresh 120 in your launch options

I already have -refresh 120 and -freq 120 in my launch options. I'm probably just retarded >.>

enigmasetting your desktop to 120hz won't necessarily force your game to run at that refresh rate if you play it full screen.

there's usually some sort of option to force the highest refresh rate on every resolution. make sure you find and enable that.

Well I recently changed to windowed mode and I still don't really notice a huge difference.
