I get the 'About Casual/Competitive' popup shown to me the first time I click on both modes after startup, checking 'Don't show me again' doesn't do anything.
Can I make it so these windows do not appear at all?

If you have a roster, and you have friends who are at the same level as you... why not help yourself, IM as a whole, and your friends by making a team together and just playing. Its better than not playing at all or playing in Open
In reference to this, I'll tl;dr it to it's my team and I do what I want, but here's a long answer.
In the past 2 weeks I've commented on the threads of zheep, odb, icTus, keith, mae, rolling, brulee, dell conagher, linkuser and ex.
Are any of those people low IM?
I didn't even plan on making a team initially, but a couple people have expressed interest to me and now I feel inclined to give them and myself a good experience.
I talked to everyone else on the roster, they believe it would be beneficiary to prosper in Open, and I believe so as well.
We're not sandbagging, and it's too early to call any team a placement team, so what's the problem?
Small edit: Vipa is using the roster to make his own IM team next season, I'm not using it.
