lvl4Spoon12345 Egoscue believes RSI isn't really a thingthat's stupid

Humans are designed to repeat actions. Assuming you are in correct alignment, your muscles will get tired long before any joint damage/pain starts, and you will be forced to stop. But if you aren't in correct alignment, your joints are constantly being grinded in ways they are not designed to be used, so join pain starts before muscle fatigue. Egoscue says that repeating actions is not what causes injury; it is being out of proper alignment and repeating actions that causes injury.

similar conclusions here kind of (and if u know that group on youtube they're not the type to praise such thinking).

it's definitely not 'normal' to have pain. i lived a very long time with the same habits basically and had no such thing and I know plenty of others too. the first thing im going to try I think is desk height. my arms are actually like outwards (like a birdy) when I play because the desk is higher than my elbows and I rest my arms on the desk due to no armrests.

You can't force yourself to be in correct alignment with desks or "standing up straight" or whatever advice you normally hear. Only properly exercising will "activate" your muscles and keep your bones in alignment.

So either trust Mr. "that's stupid" or trust the guy with the 743 reviews, 4.5 star, best selling book on becoming pain free, your choice.

Get a book called Pain Free by Pete Egoscue. Egoscue believes RSI isn't really a thing, and that humans are designed to repeat motions over and over again. He would say that your wrist pain is caused by an out of position shoulder, and will give you exercises to fix it.

If you are serious about eliminating the pain in your wrist, and in your whole body actually, use that book. It will allow you to play as much as you want.
