so recently i was comin back from a beer run and ended up getting stuck on a fallen tree in the alley behind my friend's house
didn't see that shit until it wedged itself under the car
thing's front wheel drive, one wheel in the air, mud under the other tire, just a useless fuckin mess. you know how dogs start paddling before they even touch water? imagine that, but car size
so buddy gave me a super thin saw with a stoppy handle thing, a 10lb water weight, a crowbar, and some other bs that I don't remember. passed out in the car after i sawed at the tree for 2 hours only to realize that stupid handle was gonna prevent me from cutting all the way through and pulling the tree out piece by piece.
next day, borrow an old 2 ton jack from buddy's buddy. it's real short but I figure I can lift one end enough to pull the tree back out the way it came
sadly, the tree was all gnarly n shit, and the ground dried out enough to where I couldn't rotate it. jack was kinda short, too, so I spent a while trying to raise the car, alternating sides to try and wiggle it out.
8 hours after I start, all the while dealing with a hangover and buddy who I was staying at's bratty little kid, folks across the fence give me a 5 ton jack that's like a foot and a half longer
I lift the car from a lift post in the middle, about a foot past the front end, and yank that tree out. 10 minutes, start to finish.
moral of the story is: if I didn't fuck around for ten hours doing a ten minute job, I'd still have my phone, speaker, and the fucked up alignment from when I spun out into that ditch.
