Cpu. Source games are definitely more CPU intensive. I would recommend an 8320 or 8350, but don't get greedy and buy something that will run too hot. I use to be a huge AMD fanboy, but my computer with an AMD cpu (FX 9370) recently died from overheating too often, so beware of that.
Find another hobby that involves more real life interaction? Join a local sports club or something, find a club or some social activity that you take an interest in.
