No, not at all since all the commands are blocked by sv_cheats. However, they clog up the console and can make it confusing to figure out if I really do have a problem with my configs.
For as long as I can remember, right after launch my console has been displaying odd output. Things like,
Can't use cheat cvar fog_start in multiplayer, unless the server has sv_cheats set to 1.
There are a good amount of these lines for various cvars that tf2 seems to want to exec, even though I've never set them to exec in the first place. There is also an output of
Unknown command "sv_backspeed"
in the mix.
The obvious thing I checked was the config.cfg file, and sure enough almost all of these were there. However, because of steam cloud I haven't been able to modify the config.cfg permanently. I've tried pretty much every fix I've found through googling (eg. http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?p=22112149) but they haven't worked. I've ended up having to read-only my config.cfg file (both in cfg/ and in the steam cloud path under userdata/) and manually edit the files myself. While this works for the most part any change I make in game is only temporary now (since it cannot be written to the config.cfg file.) Slightly annoying, but I can live with, although if anybody knows of a real fix let me know.
However, and this brings me to the real question, not all of the "bad" output is gone. I still have the following lines:
Connection to game coordinator established.
CTFGCClientSystem::PostInitGC
CTFGCClientSystem - adding listener
Loading default settings for high sensitivity
Loading default settings for high sensitivity
------------Autoexec loading.------------
------------Chris' dx9frames config loading.-----------
------------Chris' dx9frames config loaded.------------

------------Autoexec loaded.-------------
Can't use cheat cvar fog_start in multiplayer, unless the server has sv_cheats set to 1.
Can't use cheat cvar fog_end in multiplayer, unless the server has sv_cheats set to 1.
Can't use cheat cvar fog_startskybox in multiplayer, unless the server has sv_cheats set to 1.
Can't use cheat cvar fog_endskybox in multiplayer, unless the server has sv_cheats set to 1.
Can't use cheat cvar r_farz in multiplayer, unless the server has sv_cheats set to 1.
The first three lines seem like "good" output so I'm not really worried about them. The same thing goes for chris' frames/autoexec lines (I just left them in so you can see that the problems occur before and after the autoexec is executed, not during). However, everything else seems like it shouldn't be there. I've grepped the lines and searched my entire tf/ directory and the only hits are in bin/client.dll and bin/client.dylib, both of which are uneditable files. Is there anyway for me to remove these offending lines, or am I just stuck with a bunch of sv_cheats cvars and some unknown high sensitivity setting that really want to execute on launch?
Purpleeeeeeeeflippersso cool how you can get consistently left with 1 hp and not die.
sv_cheats 1
buddha
alternatively:
sv_cheats 1
hurtme -999999
Actually, provided you don't wait a damage tick before swinging your basher again you will end up with 1hp (starting with full health).
Honestly the M305 isn't that bad of a mouse, especially if you like small mice. Moving up to a mouse that has a "perfect" sensor almost doubles the size of your mouse, so take that into consideration. The only reason I see that might make you want to switch is if you really need more than 3 buttons on your mouse. Otherwise, just keep using your current mouse.
I would, however, recommend getting a constant surface that you play on, be it a mouse pad or whatever. Having a surface that you know how it feels when you move your mouse across it can be a big deal when needing to move your mouse precisely.
I highly recommend you check out Miles play some Metroid Prime (1 and 2) and Super Monkey Ball. Surprisingly it seems like few people know about him, but he has an any% metroid prime run under an hour and a 100% time of 1:19, 5 minutes faster than the speed demos archive's segmented run where the runner said
I think the perfect time for a TAS (tool-assisted) Metroid Prime Single-segment 100% speedrun would be maybe around 1:20. That's the time a programmed bot could get, but for us humans 1:20 is impossible.
Here is the run uploaded to youtube if you want to watch:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dlBI5pcMTag
There is nobody close in terms of skill when it comes to these games.
eI'm not trying to speedrun the game, I'm just trying to have fun playing it in some out of order way, since i can do these glitches that are required for speedruns
So then why not follow the 100% route? Still get fun tricks and you get to complete the game fully.
From the first image:
Killing: I'll give you freemium
Killing: if they play
Killing: i'll give them freemium
Grammatically, "you"+"them" is more than just 2 people. Maybe not all six, but the wording of that suggests that at least half your team should be getting freemium.
EDIT: Looks like 20 of us had the same thing to say all at the same time.
dfyakg's if you prefer open headphones, sennheisers are great too for closed/open headphones which are still amazing audiophile headphones for the price you can spend $100 or less, beyderdynamic if you wanna spend a little extra. all 3 brands have really great build quality, they will last you a long time, they're comfortable and the sound is fantastic. you can message me if you're wondering which models i prefer to others
I find pretty much all the closed senns to be fairly uncomfortable. Their open offers are amazing (800s are like clouds) but based on comfort I wouldn't recommend their closed offerings. Beyers are hit or miss when it comes to comfort because of their clamping force, but all of their cups are amazing.
If you require a set of closed headphones, (closed don't leak sound, as much) then I will recommend the AKG K271 as binarystar suggests.
The one problem you will find with closed headphones over open ones is that their sound is generally harsher. This can cause fatigue and make you want to take the headphones off regardless of their comfort.
Since you didn't give us any information to work with I will also echo the recommendation of the AD900's. http://www.head-fi.org/t/634201/battle-of-the-flagships-50-headphones-compared#user_ATHAD900 is a review of them by a guy who as spent well over 100 grand on audio equipment and headphones. For their price the AD900's are probably the most comfortable headphone on the market.
I can also recommend the Beyerdynamic DT880 as being extremely comfortable, but you are most likely going to need an amplifier, so you are looking around $500 just to listen to them. There is also a review of them on that link, just search for their name.
RiddleYeah I have heard people tell me that mic was good a while back. But since I use auto transmit with mumble and have an MX blue mechanical keyboard, I feel like having a mic with no mute button and clipped lower might be problematic.
Will that adapter have negative effects on the sound quality vs the internal sound card? Or would it be negligible?
By auto transmit I assume you mean voice activated, which if that is the case you can always find a setting so that it doesn't activate when you are pressing keys. You could also bind a button on your mouse or a key on your keyboard to mute yourself in mumble which is probably more convenient than having a hard to reach button on your mic anyway.
The adapter will "technically" have worse quality compared to your motherboard sound, but I doubt that it will actually be noticeable. The adapter only does mono sound, but that is never a problem with a microphone any way. Just make sure you plug in your headphones into the existing jack and not the adapter and you will be fine.
Assuming you have headphones that you enjoy, then I would recommend just getting a mic and an adapter so that you can plug in both mic and headphones.
The standard cheap but good microphone is the Zalman clip-on:

To plug in your mic you will need an adapter which I would recommend this:

joraneyWith my little experience with mechanical keyboards, I must ask.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823201052
Do people think that this is a good one?
Any basic questions you have about mechanical keyboards you can find in this thread over at http://www.overclock.net/t/491752/mechanical-keyboard-guide.
Rosewill keyboards appear to be somewhat repackaged filco keyboards which are good keyboards. However, there are numerous complaints about the usb connector inside of the keyboard failing very quickly, resulting in a dead keyboard. In general, people tend to recommend Filco, Das Keyboard, and Leopold as some of the best on the market but there are plenty of manufacturers out there that offer a quality product.
#5 The problem with most headsets is that you get both an inferior headphone and mic for the price. The more expensive headsets are also filled with gimmicks like 7.1 Surround sound and other nonsense that just hurt your sound quality.
