On second thought I should have waited until after the admin post and acted like I had a bingo card the whole time. Sorry guys it's early
If y'all want to make suggestions for the squares I can throw together a bingo card for the admin post that should be coming soon
Shout-out to current year tf2 community too I guess. Trying their hardest to not name names and shit. Whatever happened to passive aggressively posting "good game team x" in the div thread when you get done dirty like that.
Lmao shout-out to mid IM teams actively trying to avoid getting valuable match experience. God forbid you find yourself in an environment where all 12 players want to win.
Its been one week since the cup's announcement, and our prize pool currently sits at $475.00 with only one team signed up.
As funny as it would be to give it all to them, I'm sure the generous donators would be a little annoyed by that, so lets get those rosters going!
QUICK ANNOUNCEMENT
After asking around, I have elected to move the tournament to the following Saturday, July 10th.
As a caster, I put a lot of emphasis on being available for a broadcast production. However, it's clear that in this scenario, player accessibility is more important than spectator accessibility.
To compensate for this, the tournament will start an hour earlier, 5 PM EST, and the stream will not be starting until top 8. STVs should still be available to those who want to watch games.
Community contributions to the prize pool are already nearing 400 dollars! I am excited to see what we are able to accomplish.
bearodactylwhy is this 6est on a tuesday bro just do it on a saturday
i work until like 7 on saturday and have to be up at 6 the next morning. if we get a bunch of people that would be down to help run the stream it could be moved to the weekend but i dont have that atm so im working around my days off
also someone from match.tf should hit me up because their discord link is broken and i only found out the website existed a half hour before i made the thread. i have some questions
As complaints about the fate of North American TF2 pile up at roughly the same speed that they have for the last couple years, former caster THE BILLDOZER stepped forward and offered to organize a 1 Day Cup. More info on the tournament can be found below:
Map Pool is in the spoiler below:

The tournament, beginning at 5 PM EST on Saturday, July 10th, will follow a relatively established format, opting for the European match style in a desperate bid to keep to a schedule. Rules can be found in the spoiler below:
-The tournament will be a double elimination bracket, with the upper and lower brackets running simultaneously.
-Matches will begin at 5 pm EST, with the next round beginning every hour until there is only a single team remaining.
-Servers will be provided to you by a tournament organizer.
-Each match will be a single map, played to 30 minutes, or score difference of 5, whichever comes first.
-If teams cannot amicably agree on a map to play, then a pick/ban process will be initiated.
-If scores are tied after 30 minutes, teams will then play a golden cap until the tie is broken.
-Semi Finals will be played in a best of 3 format.
-Grand finals will be a best of 5, with the winner's side team getting a one map advantage.
Prize Pool info can be found in the spoiler below:
1st: 50%
2nd: 30%
3rd: 15%
4th: 5%
If the prize pool is greater than 1000 USD:
1st: 40%
2nd: 20%
3rd: 15%
4th: 10%
5-6th: 5%
5-6th 5%
7-8th: 2.5%
7-8th: 2.5%
Sign ups for this tournament can be found at the cup's matchtf page. They will be open until 24 hours before the cup starts.
Donations to the prize pool can be made at my paypal.
Help with the stream would be nice because I don't want to do it by myself :(
6/25 EDIT: added prize pool breakdown, put sections in spoilers to keep the post relatively consolidated.
appreciate the support from people. ill put out info in the next few days. I dont really plan on doing this more than once, but i'd like to make what im doing very clear to everyone so it doesnt feel like some insurmountable wall to run your own competition.

I am appalled by this thread. Absolute pussy shit. Nobody has any interest in actually attempting to form any avenue of play that isnt RGL, but everybody wants to bitch and moan.
Ill put up 150 bucks right now for a 1 day cup. No entry fees, but people are welcome to donate to the prize pool. Ill provide servers, tourney infrastructure, ill steal an EU ruleset, ill make stvs public so anyone can cast the games, ill set hud_saytext_time to 0 so everyone can ignore mean words. So that people can see that it isnt hard to do this stuff, and you dont need to worry about having a fancy website for a 14 year old game that only a few thousand of us play. You just need minimal effort invested and a drive to play the game you (are supposed to) love.
I dont plan on doing this more than once, but i certainly have other ideas if anyone else wants to step up and organize something. Let me know if you want to help out with this one.
