I truly believe that this won't kill tf2. We're not defined by the actions of our worst members. We were willing to get rid of multiple vile members of the community even though each one made major contributions to our scene. We've survived this long on our own, so why not have hope for the future. I mean, last year, if you told me that BTS would even consider us for a lan I'd laugh in your face. We'll obviously never be an esport but we can still have fun playing one of the best games of all time
