tl;dr it is one thing to do a give away, it's another to advertise your server.

You went on to a tf2 competitive forum and advertised your server. You also made the requirements to be eligible impossible for someone actually interested in joining.

You made no mention of this thread being for the regulars of the server, nor do I see anyone in the comments who has said "be right there" so I doubt that there were actually a good enough portion of this community willing to go to make the thread worth being posted.

I don't think banning guns would fix anything; there's always a way to get a gun, and most often these people did not get the guns through normal methods. The problem is caused by several factors, all of which really need attention.

These people are psycho. There's no way to completely protect people against this, but... there are many ways to help. If this can't be fixed, and they are violent and insane, then they should not be in the public.

Wouldn't it be effective to have armed security at these public institutions, especially schools? I don't mean have a small army, but enough to stop one guy. Protect the children.

Welcome to competitive tf2. I recommend continuing to play lobbies, and to maybe join a highlander team. You seem to be an engineer main, so you'll be at a disadvantage DM wise, but practice should help improve it a lot. You're going to want to pick a main class, although be sure to explore all the other classes. If you want to join a highlander team (1 of each class) I suggest ugcleague.com. UGC iron would be a good start, maybe steel. Practice, enjoy tf2 competitive, good luck.

Stop replying to negative comments. They are not being jerks to you, they merely post their opinions and experiences with you in the past. Don't take insult. Don't start arguing. You're looking for a team, not defending your internetz honor. Don't be a dick to people who are a dick to you, IGNORE THEM.

Flaming them when they post their mildly negative comments just makes their points more and more apparent and believable. Bragging about having never lost a MGE match makes you look arrogant and, quite frankly, not very smart, as MGE is a training mod and stats don't matter in it.
