#42 RGB LAN 4 + TooManyGames in LAN Discussion
Stochast1cmy concern for competitive tf2 at rgb is precisely the reason I made the post.

You have nothing to worry about. I'm still the tournament director for RGB and make all of the tournament decisions on that front. I'm completely aware of how much TF2 cares about a good community LAN that is not only competitive, but welcoming. You can still expect the exact same kind of effort and dedication I give towards the TF2 tournament and all of the tournaments in general. TooManyGames are not dictating ANYTHING to us about tournaments or anything on how we run our show.

Stochast1cTicket prices are probably going to be very close to $100 (normal TMG tickets are $55)

Ticket prices will be $75, not $100. Normal TMG tickets are indeed about $55, but $75 will get you a RGB seat AND let you explore TMG with their many vendors / games to do whatever. Plus, we will be releasing a code that will get you $5-$10 off as an early bird special discount code.

I can understand your apprehensions, but I'm here to tell you that ur boi, Lord TheFragile :3, has it under control.

If you (or anyone) has any further questions or concerns, feel free to post here. Additionally, you can add me on Steam or message me on Discord. My Discord is TheFragile#5249

Hi all,

It's that time again. :3

Greater Philadelphia Expo Center
100 Station Ave.
Oaks, PA 19456

START: June 21st
END: June 23rd

Tickets
https://purchase.growtix.com/e/TooManyGames_2019/
^Select "RGB LAN BYOC Pass" with the team color that you want

For a limited time, you can get a $10 discount if you use the code RGBEARLYBIRD. This code has a limited number of uses, so once they are all used up, that's it!

More info here:

What is the closest airport to the venue?
Philadelphia International Airport - PHL

What are the details on the hotel?
Use this link as TMG room block codes are placed within the links. If you plan on going, book your hotel ASAP so it doesn't become an issue later.

Can I play in other tournaments?
You may only play in other tournaments if and when you’ve been eliminated from the TF2 tournament. Keep in mind that the TF2 tournament is only on Saturday, so anything you wish to do on Friday is up to you. There are no tournaments on Sunday.

How can I sit with my team or other friends?
There will be a section for each charity (so a red section, green section, and blue section). Make sure your team picks the same color/charity if you want to sit near each other. If you don't care about sitting next to each other, then it doesn't matter what color/charity everyone chooses. There will be no assigned seating within each section.

Will there be rental computers and monitors?
RENTALS ARE NO LONGER AVAILABLE.
Rentals will be $80 + taxes and fees (so expect around $90)

i7-9700K CPU
1TB SSD
16GB DDR4 2666MHz RAM
RTX 2070 GPU
240hz BenQ Monitor

It will be listed as an add-on for your BYOC ticket on the TMG site, and you can add it later if you already got a ticket. June 6th cut-off for orders, none available to rent on-site. It's PC/monitor ONLY so you will have to bring: keyboard, mouse, headset, and 25ft ethernet cable. (Power and display cables are included)

Rentals are available now! There isn't really a limited number of rentals by any means, so don't worry about missing your chance to get one. Our supplier has quite a few, but they will only send us what we order, so again, you must add it on to your ticket by June 6th.

If you or anyone that has already purchased their ticket and needs to add on the rental, they are going to have to follow the following steps:

Log into growtix.com
Once logged in - on the right hand side click the green "view all orders" button
Your TMG ticket should show up, on the right of your ticket click the green "order additional tickets" button
Then you can add on your computer rental there.

FAQ – TF2 tournament (DETAILS TENTATIVE)

How can I play in the tournament?
You’ll need to find a team if you haven’t already found one. Keep in mind that the tournament will be 6 vs 6. This thread will have plenty of teams looking for players, so make sure to post here (and don’t forget to include what class you play). If you can’t find a team, there will certainly be pick-up teams made while at the event.

Will there be a buy-in for the tournament?
Yes, it is $5 per person (or $30 per team).

What will the prizes and payout be?
The prize pool is sitting at $500 + the buy-ins.
1st Place: 60% of total prize pool
2nd Place: 30% of total prize pool
3rd Place: 10% of total prize pool

I’m interested in sponsoring the tournament with cash and/or prizes. How should I contact you about this?
If you’re interested in sponsoring the tournament, feel free to send me a private message on here or send an email to one of our sponsorship guys: sponsorship@rgblan.org

When is the tournament?
The entirety of the TF2 tournament will be on Saturday. It will start at 11 AM.

What is the format of the tournament?
6 players per team. There will be a group stage (for seeding) followed by double elimination.

What are the rules?
Class-limits (NA rules):

2 Scouts
2 Soldiers
2 Pyros
1 Demoman
1 Heavy
1 Engineer
1 Medic
2 Snipers
2 Spy

Time-limit / win-limit (EU/NA hybrid rules):

30 minute time-limit
If a team wins 5 rounds (or 4 on koth), that team wins.
If the game is tied after 30 minutes, the tiebreaker will be decided by golden cap. If this occurs in group stage, there will be a 10 minute time limit, and if there is no victor by that time, then whoever controls mid is the winner. If this occurs in the double elimination bracket, there will be no time limit for golden cap.

What maps will be in use?
Whatever the current ESEA map pool is at the time.

===

Post in the thread if you need a team.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask in the thread or PM me.

#232 NFL 2018 Season in Off Topic

Both teams played insane defense. Rams had some of the best defense in the year, and the Patriots had a shaky defense throughout the year but played their best defense on the game that mattered most. Patriots secondary got absolutely exposed by Mahomes, and Belichick was super pissed off. I knew that the moment that man slammed his Microsoft Surface and then threw it over the bench, there was no way their secondary was gonna look like that against the Rams. It may not be fun compared to watching cornerbacks and secondary doing absolutely nothing for the entire Eagles vs Patriots superbowl, but it was a good game regardless.

It was a close game until the very end, which I think most people would be happy with. I don't think anyone enjoyed watching Denver get stomped against Seattle, which was 36-0 at one point (ending at 43-8).

Perhaps Gurley should have been used more, and McVay took blame for that.

I wanna give a big shoutout to everyone who came. It still amazes me that every single RGB (and previously GXL) gets like ~100 TF2 players. Even though I don't play this game anymore, it still makes me really happy that all of you get together to play and have a good time. :3

See you at the next one!

Will repost this a couple more times over the next 48 hours for visibility, but please make sure your team is registered with me by 10:30 AM on Saturday at the very latest. The tournament will start at 11 AM on Saturday.

I will be accepting registration anytime during Friday. It's $5 per player (or $30 per team). I need the entire $30 team payment at once, with the name of all six players and your team name.

If you have any questions or concerns, please ask me. :3
