KuferlI don't think it should be compared to DeutschLAN really. Correct me if I'm wrong, but DeutschLAN was always seen as a "casual" lan, people just enjoying all the stuff that came with it.
This seems to be the first try for a more "competitive" HL lan, how it will turn out is gonna depend on all the details to it, which we hopefully get soon.
This is true, and also a part of my point. The main problem with trying to focus on a competetive side of HL now is that the scene hasn't been able to field more than one solid roster for the last 18 months, and that one pulled in 3 americans. There is no proper competetive side to it anymore. Because of this you will have a terrible stream for people to watch and much fewer signups.
Stinson_OutWhy cant it be the other way round?.
That's just how it is, how it always has been and how it always will be. No point challenging it. Streep sums it up pretty well although there are many, many other reasons. It just complicates everything for no benefit and drives many people away from actually wanting to go.
When this is all said and done, Let's see what happens when more details pop up.
Obviously this will be a biased forum to talk about it, but even the majority of HL players, including myself, ask why this is going to be a HL LAN. The reason DeutschLAN was popular was because of the venue, not because it was HL. A very small minority meet up to play HL rather than letting it be an excuse to meet and hang out with the people you play with so much every week. HL people don't care about the gamemode, or they wouldn't have met up for i61 or the other LANs. 6s attracts a lot more people and makes the community gathering a lot larger as a result which is great for everyone. The worst part is that they're just shooting themselves in the foot because there's not much to gain by making it a HL LAN. And this isn't even accounting for the other good stuff that comes with 6s LANs like cool matches to watch and such things. Would be such a wasted opportunity for something this community just doesn't get enough of.
Hope they change their mind.
I feel I missed something in the movie, because I was really dissapointed. It had amazing visuals, especially shit like the light speed collision shit. The whole story didn't really make much sense and went completely 180 on the direction TFA was going. Like 90% of the movie seemed to be dedicated to filler for random ass characters like the asian chick and half of them failed after like 45-60 minutes of dedicated screen time. What was the point, and what in the fuck are they going to do in episode 9? The main villain died in the first scene he was in, and the rest are pussies. Oh, and theres jokes everywhere. It seemed like they added all the ideas they had and didnt look at the final product to see if it was actually worth it to have any of them in there.
I liked they took a different direction instead of just copying the original trilogy again but for me they just missed the mark on so many things.
CondoMthe lack of effort from valve andNurseyI had way more fun with Medic before the scout buff came out. For situations where the medic didn't track ubers right (like they're 20% off) and the opposing team can pop uber right into them, it becomes void as the medic can more than make up for bad positioning. As a consequence, games in top invite can become super stalematey as teams can't reliably push off small ads. Medics don't die nearly as much as they should.this
Also fuck the Iron Bomber.
This, but mostly thinking about what TF2 could have been if any proper effort was put into the competetive scene. Talking about what kind of I-series LANs, invite groups and shit like that we could have gotten to watch if there was a genuine incentive to play the game at a competitive level.
Valve made around $139M from the mann co store in 2013 alone, excluding all market purchases. Something like a 25k prize pool is literally less than a fiftieth of a procent of their revenue that year. Comparison isn't really fair, but it really makes me feel for the people who poured their hearts and soul into the game with nothing coming out of it.. At least some of the peeps are finding decent succes in OW now.
and scout
The stock revolver is better at 'sniping' than the ambassador, so it's absolutely useless. They did the classic overnerfing. Good they nerfed the shit out of the DR, but they did it wrong again.
They should just remove all the retarded bonuses except the damage reduction, and then readd the ammo pickup, and then u get away if ur good. The Ambassador range should be at least doubled so that u can still snipe people but your not so far away from the action that nobody knows where u are. This way good players will get rewarded for good aim, and bad players wont get headshots from miles away on targets who are standing still.

What Hildreth said - there is no way in hell they would host us again after some of the shit that went down there that weekend, that was at least the general message I got from the owners dad lol. Most of it was pretty forgivable and could easily be sorted with a little repayment, which some ended up doing anyway, though to no avail.
The worst thing about it is that the actual shit that went wrong was all something that could have been easily avoided if some people hadn't fucked about as much as they did considering the location of the event, age of the some of the attendees and things like that.
Original FEAR is incredible, the second one is good too.
