The invite group is going to be tiny
As far as I know these are the teams going.
(sorry if i didn't mention your name but I'm trying to name possible invite group teams)
Seven?
Svift ? (If they raise money)
Low pander (if they raise money)
Antic
nunya mix team thing?
loli squad mix team thing?
And probably some more mix teams that might pop up.
Looking at this it is going to be kinda a disappointing lan. With the only actual teams in the invite group that I know of going is antic and lowpander and seven?
I don't know if you agree with me but I hate lans where the only teams playing are mix teams. It makes it seem pointless.
I'm sure the social aspect will be fun. But it might not be one to stay glued to the stream for.
Feel free to let me know if more teams are going but this is what I know so far.
EDIT: I'd love for these teams to surprise me however. But judging from the officials I watched I don't have much faith.
Team is dead. Maros and Funs will be playing for new teams next season.
Thai is leaving due to work and Sil and Spudd are here just to end the season.
I left because I might as well get a head start on trying to find a new team as I don't have one lined up.
If they want to play playoffs that's their decision but the team is dead.
Sorry to let people down if you expected a close game or whatever but the team is cancer to this scene. I hope teams look at this as a warning of what Not to do. Cutting your players can be a quick way to the top but its better to try and stick with what you have and make it work. Its better for our players to spread around the scene to make other teams better.
"Double mix" is a lot nicer to say than a "in house pug".
oh my name got changed...epic
SentinelKiNGDO NOT PLAY TF2 CENTRE. Anything but tf2c is good tbh, as turbomonkey (jomjom) said
You talk shit about tf2c and yet you use it on a daily basis. I mean, you're all shitting on tf2center and not offering and viable alternatives.
Mixchamp is dead. Brand new players won't get picked on pugchamp. Faceit has no class limits, no mumble and it has stacks. Stadium is dead. Newbie mixes don't exist.
Like it or not, tf2center is the place to go if you want to play a quick game of 6s, especially if you're new. Sure, it's far from perfect, it has some toxic retards but not everyone is an absolute twat. And guess what, games don't take hours to start because it actually has a playerbase
Faceit is the better option. If you can hop on the discord and use comms its not nearly as bad as TF2 center lobbies.
Its a shame we don't have newbie mixes anymore. It gave brand new players some structure and you played with people who were in the same boat as you. I used to run a lot of theses some years ago and we used to have teams formed from the mixes which was really good for the scene.
If you want my advice i would say this:
EDIT: If i was to start playing TF2 fresh in the scene i would try to actively find a team in open as quickly as possible. When you get some league experience under your belt it gives you an idea of what is needed from you to be a good player. Watch demos or stv's of the best players. Consume as much 6v6 TF2 as you can. Unlike when i started there is a huge amount of resources for you to help you improve. Its all been linked on this thread.
Tf2 center is basically pure trash tf2 and I would avoid it at all costs. It has a really awful player base of some of the most toxic players I've ever met in TF2.(and that's impressive in this community) and new players will just get slammed by stacks or shitalked by their own team.
Face it is slightly better but still not ideal for new players. Every time I play face it I am put on a team with Russians who cant communicate in English or don't say anything at all. People give up after a round loss throw or just troll the entire game. Sure you might get a good game with communication every now and again but it is rare. It was potential to be amazing. But ironically because of the low player count in matchmaking the worse off it is. Which is why if you are going to play some semi organised TF2 you should jump in the queue. Unlike TF2 center I wouldn't avoid it like the plague.
Honestly I would play Mixchamp (if its still active) if you aren't picked on pugchamp or play Pugchamp at off peak times. They are at least organised and for the most part not toxic bad experiences.
EDIT: You should play MGE and jump maps if you plan on playing in 6v6 in my opinion. It gives you control of the game and you get used to certain mechanics which may not be apparent in pubs. All classes benefit when you grind those out.
I've been thinking about starting newbie mixes again. So if anything happens on that i'll make a post about it.
1. Venue
2. Security
3. Good planning
Seem to be the most important things to keep in mind.

MR_SLINI'm confused people told me the rescue ranger was awful and you didn't want to play with it anymore, and it was justifiable to ban it ASAP? I might have misunderstood, just seeking clarification.
To take it further you guys want to see a Rewind LAN with rescue ranger then?
Just keep the current WL until after lan. Then make changes. I had no idea we were determining the white list outcome for lan.
MR_SLINMeeting notes:
1. We won't be unbanning anything for the rewind LAN because it could drastically change results due to limited preparation. Players on both sides of the pond agreed that the rescue ranger and jarate were the worst offenders and needed to be banned regardless, at least for the time being.
2. We can always schedule a follow-up meeting but league play starts in a week so let's start experimenting now.
3. There are major issues regarding consistency of weapon bans. People wanted to ban the cow mangler simply because it was annoying (not game breaking) but couldn't apply the same logic to the natscha or the fan of war.
4. We should operate under the assumption that Valve won't give us major game balancing updates more than a few times per year.
5. We shouldn't make massive changes from the last global whitelist. Thus we proposed only 7 changes.
6. Tri specifically (ESEA) was against the quick fix and the solemn vow for reasons you guys have listed above. We agreed to a week of playtesting followed by a solid decision.
I don't think it was as unanimous as you stated here. I'm pretty sure we all agreed not changing the whitelist until after lan.
