Well, given the shit standards you seem to have on your current mouse, I doubt there are proper drivers to adjust the dpi of it.

I might try playing tf2 completely clean, as in -autoconfig, no hud, no cfgs at all and dx9 later to see if it still causes issues later.
After "extensive mge testing" I have come to the conclusion of that it happens pretty much only when using hitscan weapons (take what I say here with a grain of salt here, I can't fully confirm this).
I.E soldier shotgun, scout class, etc. makes you crash.
When playing demo I experienced no issues at all, however as soon as I switched to scout or shotgun soldier the problem occurred after just a few lives.
Valve what have you done?
Just tried removing everything custom but my actual config.
No custom hud, no surfaceprops.txt, no vpks, nothing workshop-ish.
Just pure tf2 in dx8 with a custom cfg.
Issue remains and frequently returns.
If it's not the cfg the game is just straight up shitting itself.
EDIT: Posting my launch options for the fuck of it.
Highly unlikely but worth a shot.
-console -freq 144 -threads 4 -novid -nojoy -noforcemparms -noforcemaccel -noforcemspd -w 1920 -h 1080
EDIT2: Compared my launch options to vani who also has this issue.
Unless any of these options cause the issue
-console -w 1920 -h 1080 -full -novid
, we can probably assume it's either cfg related or just a straight up poorly done update.
Personally I've only encountered this on servers with sourcemod/tftrue installed but if what #56 is saying is true and this happens on valve pubs too any real server side issues should be out of the question.
Does everyone that has this issue by any chance have the "surfaceprops.txt" file (the one that removes excess particles on surfaces shot by hitscan) in their custom hud scripts folder?
Also if you have the nosoundscapes vpk file, the nohats mod or any other vpk mod thing in your custom folder this could be relevant. If someone has none of these things in their custom folder and still has issues please post so here because it eliminates a whole lot of potential causes to the issue.
Also, has anybody figured out what the "CUtlLinkedList overflow! (exhausted index range)" post spammed in console means? It seems to be spammed before / as the problem occurs.
Do you have steam cloud sync or some other retarded sync thing on?
Did you check through ALL .cfg files for the commands?
Did you put your preferred settings in your autoexec?

someone, somewhere must have backed them up at least, right?
I've been searching around for quite a bit now, seems like the vods from http://twitch.tv/tfliveau for season 12 (excluding finals) are missing, even though several matches from the season were being casted.
I checked the tfliveau youtube channel too and other casting orgs on top of that but I couldn't find a single official cast.
Does anyone know where I can find these vods?
do you think the guy who took the picture ran with the drugs?
It's actually a reference to my penis
I've heard good things about MSI's cards being solid and reliable but I could be mistaken.
I wouldn't even take the overclocking in to account when picking a card because overclocking gpu's without custom cooling wont get you far regardless. It's really not worth it.
TheFragileI despise my GTX 970. It's EVGA, for what it's worth.
In just about any game I play, my FPS goes from ~250 to ~60. It lasts for about 5 seconds, and it happens roughly every 15 seconds. It makes it a hell of a lot more annoying if you're playing on a 120/144hz monitor, too.
-cutting the rest out because long post-
I have this on my Radeon HD 7970 too so it can't be an nvidya specific issue.
Although it's less frequent than every 15 seconds, maybe once every one or two minutes.
I love it!
Also I set up a download mirror since mediafire is really slow:
