we cant use all the weapons at once now? i wonder if this encourage some kind of "class" meta and make the team game modes a little less stale

eeeScissorsyou're implying CoD is easy and then asking why people would play it
So a game being easy is a good thing these days? Also, nice bait, but too tired to bite
if its easy you can make money playing a game you (presumably) like and get to go to LANs
you're still a prick for judging people for enjoying comp CoD, especially when tf2 is a game with a host of problems when you try to make it a comp shooter
The real reason CoD is bad is because the competitive CoD scene plays on Xbox which is limited to 30fps and uses controllers and auto-aim. Please understand this is like trying to hold a triathlon where all the athletes have to ride BigWheels and wear floaties while swimming.
Really just thank you to every single person that donated and contributed to getting the players and casters there to make this possible. I'm kind of a sap but I get all teary-eyed at the ends of these sort of things because it really is just so fucking beautiful. I know I'm not the only one that feels this way when I say this game has done so much for me, an otherwise depressed fat sweaty WoW-playing nerd. Now I'm a happy fat sweaty TF2 player and I wouldn't trade that for the world.
I like TF2 because the combat is mainly close-to-mid range, and quite fast, but not so fast that everybody can one shot everybody. I like it because the movement, yet so subtle, is so important. You can win a dm fight sometimes by just out-moving some one. I dislike how in csgo you won't hit anything if you don't stop moving, and I dislike how long ranged most of the combat is. Lastly, I dislike quake because the only competitively viable gamemode is 1v1. I really love playing on a team, and I like the teamwork options that the different classes in TF2 bring to the table.
I don't think any of the games I said I dislike are bad or are boring because of those things, in fact, I love watching competitive CS, it can be so clutch and really exciting; I just hate playing it.
I like playing TF2 because it can turn on a dime at almost any moment. It does not have that unstoppable snowball effect that some other games do, such as counter-strike with it's economy, and mobas with their gold and experience. The only time a match of TF2 is truly un-winnable for a team is when the clock won't allow it, and with the American ruleset that doesn't happen often.
I agree with what #64 said. There are so few good fps games left, and none that are even remotely similar to TF2
Daggerquit messing with the runescape servers
Is it confirmed that they were the ones doing this too? I can't find it on their twitter
if you saw the smash 4 invitational, you would have seen that this is basically brawl 2.0, and that it will again reward defensive play much more than offensive. Look at how big of a commitment sprinting is and how little you can do out of it. We need more movement options for this game to come close to competitive viability.
As a casual game though this looks fun as all hell and I can't wait to play it
Saltysally1my senior photo is coming up and the dread is building!
I'm probably going to skip my senior photo because I hate my high school and most of the people in it and I don't really feel any sentimental obligation to put on a suit and bowtie so I can participate in a dog and pony show photograph that will sit in a book for eternity with all these other idiots going WOO '15 GO PANTHERS in their senior quotes.
i need the yuki airshhots in my life
MaksKidIpzWhats your point, everyone should be quiet? No :D
That's not what I'm saying but I am sat like a couple metres away from harbleu and whenever they play all I can hear is him screaming 'I'm the best medic' or 'These guys are so bad' Or other lies he has to tell himself and it's just fucking nonstop. The moment they lose a round however; fucking silence. What's wrong with screaming 'nice' followed by the player name of who went big and some cheering when you do well like a normal team instead of being a big idiot.
"nice" followed by player name you say?

After seeing the i46 documentary and the beautiful i49 fragumentary, this whole sort of thing disappoints me greatly. Especially after a particular thing Lange said in the i49 fragumentary, something to the effect of "this proves how passionate we are as a community and that we will get our spot in the global esports scene even if we have to fight for it, even if we have to fund it ourselves". I remember Byte was asking viewers what they thought at i49 and people were just being outright jerks. Saying things like "HRG is trash and should just pack it up and leave, they're wasting their time being here and they should just go home". Not just one guy either, every single person Byte asked seem to agree that the Americans "should just go home".
Like hello do you have any idea how much time, money, and effort the community put into getting them there to actually bring global competition to TF2? and you're just going to tell them to up and leave because Mike is the best soldier ever or whatever it was that the drunken fucks were trying to slur out.
I don't see any problem with shit talk or getting competitive or anything like that, but this kind of complete and utter disregard for the outstanding effort and passion it took to give TF2 global competition of that magnitude is just scummy. It feels like these inebriated idiots are just shitting all over the absolute beauty that a large portion of the community has worked incredibly hard to create, and truly are just an embarrassment and disgrace to those of us that care so much about the game and love esports so much.
AoshimaTF2 hasn't reached its peak. If 1 out of 100 people who pub start getting into comp, we'll always have new people who can rise as high as the previous stars.
It's still sad to see though, superstar players leaving who got me into the game and the comp scene.
maidosplayers comes and goes. new players will take their place and it has been like that since 2007 so stop moaning.
I agree. I also think it could be good to have the sort of "Old Dogs" who have been dominant for so long to leave the scene, it potentially opens up the opportunity for new talent to reach its full potential. I suppose evident in 4g picking up duwatna, a newer player to the top level, and also in warhuryeah filling numlocked's place too.
yuki, sheep, and harbleu
yuki's performance blew me away though
Parkway Drive is absolutely amazing
defyaesop rock
aesop rock is my all time favorite
alec_im a big fan of cheez-its
cheez-its are fine but cheez-nips are fucking repulsive. "baked crackers" bullshit more like baked cardboard that was spray painted orange and cut to look like Nickelodeon characters and ruin kids' birthday parties
