What is the (possible) future for high level tf2?

I don't know what I was expecting from this thread but an alfa broking war of words certainly wasn't one of them. Aside from that, if there is a solution to get tf2 to grow a bit and show a bit more life I'm not sure what it is. I really don't want to see a competitive scene I've been following/playing in for 3-4 years to die, but the way things have been going just seem to point to a continual slow decline. I'd love nothing more than to be wrong, however.
