#7 Share your story on getting into comp in Q/A Help

Nonis started a sniper group (reap4lyfe) and we played in some awful 5v5 KOTH reddit tourney. Then I started watching frag movies like reptile and dr. justice. Ended up forming a 6s team using people from the RAGE/Y2FC arena community that never took off, but I stayed interested in the comp scene.

#1 Looking as pocket/demo in Recruitment (looking for team)

I enjoy main-calling and I never had the opportunity to do so as scout. I'm fine with playing in either open or IM and I'm mainly concerned with the attitude of the team. I've never played on the same team for more than one season. So the goal for this season is to find a team that is committed to improvement and are fun to hang around with outside of scrims and matches.

I have three seasons of demo experience once upon a time and am very familiar with rollouts and positioning.

I have absolutely no league experience as pocket and have only played soldier in lobbies/pugs/and MGE. That being said, I feel like I have pretty competent soldier DM and (given the right team) I could improve very quickly and be a good main-caller for the team.

I love trying out for teams and meeting new players. Just shoot me a message we can figure out a good day to tryout.

#22 Being Different in TF2 General Discussion

Had spacebar set to +attack for a while, it's a bit of a different experience aiming with one hand and firing with the other. Only reason I stopped was because I couldn't find a comfortable key for +attack2.

I wrote a nerd essay in response to #24, but I can shorten it down to "you're a fucking idiot."

#212 rip tf2 invite in TF2 General Discussion

The IM playoffs are going to be really intense and I think that's why blinky doesn't like it. Xensity has been wanting to be in invite for a few seasons now and knowing how strong Wow Wow Kapoww are they might have to rely on the poll again to get that invite placement.

They'll probably get it if Arc doesn't make an ass out of himself again.

#6 Playing on high ping tips in TF2 General Discussion

If you're scout: try adjusting your cl_interp to a higher value. It's not necessary but if you adjust the interp to roughly half your ping it gives you more of the illusion of low ping hit reg.

If you're medic: don't hold onto ubers quite as long as you might normally. Be very alert and take less chances with full charge because you're much more likely to drop when the response time is so much slower.

If you're demo or soldier: gl

What about Mihalys Flow? I don't see what point you're directing at me.

Xensity was an unfortunate circumstance. At the time of the poll they only had 4 confirmed players. Tictack and Tony Swan were said to have left the team. So the options were to vote in Chess Club or a team with teto (who ended up leaving as well), blinky, solid, arc, and 2 question marks.

their roster looked like that if you only read the esea article, they had a set roster before the poll went up and the article was never updated.

Not really. They got cringe and smaka confirmed before the poll ended, but not before it started. If you don't believe me, here you go.

http://natf2.com/topics/6232-invite-poll?page=3

http://play.esea.net/teams/51134?tab=roster

Poll started the 23rd, Smaka joined the roster the 25th, Cringe joined the day after that. If you're going to say that the roster was defined before then, well it wasn't ever done so publicly and Blinky never announced that he had a set roster until later because he was still trying out people. At the start of the poll Spadez was the main candidate for replacing Tony Swan and players like sureshot and Tagg were also being tried out for the team. There was no set roster.

EDIT: Also the Arc fiasco caused people not to vote for Xensity. http://play.esea.net/index.php?s=poll&d=comments&id=778#n1

PlatinumAre you like fucking pissed that lansky picked craig up instead of you or something?? That's typically not the norm. See: carnage. He tried to come back for 2 seasons and people DIDN'T pick him up, despite him being godlike in his prime.

No, I'm shit. I found it incredibly confusing that your post on "players with potential" comprised solely of players who were dedicated and didn't take years off and then used it to defend a player who did exactly that.

It is the norm. The same players are recycled through invite, and lets face it, a lot of them have lost the drive to try to get to the top. I'm going to stop name dropping, but lets just say there's a lot of players in Invite who have no ambition of even making to LAN (dodge or leave if they do) and a lot who have no drive to winning LAN. These players float around as "roster fillers" and only bother playing TF2 when their scheduled scrims or matches start.

I'm sorry that I name dropped in the first place, I didn't mean to offend. I'm just really disappointed with the way this invite season is panning out.

PlatinumThe only players that deserved to be in invite this season that weren't already were the entire xensity team.

DELETING NAMES SO NO ONE GETS EGOS.

lanskyEDIT: On a second note, do you have any examples of players that got to invite based on "connections" that don't actually DESERVE to be there? I know you mentioned Craig but I honestly believe that he deserves to keep playing in invite after how much he improved this season.

EDITED BECAUSE I SAID I WOULD STOP NAME DROPPING AND THEN I DID
