in all seriousness, people keep saying the worst that can happen is we have 6v6 and HL the same as it is with nothing new. That's not true; the WORST that can happen is Valve tries to make everything better and more balanced, but make it impossible for us to play 6v6 without a shit-ton of plugins and things to make weapons the same as they are now.

Wasn't there an unlocks tourny awhile ago?
It seems like this thread has devolved into a pyro debate; mostly composed of people who play pyro....
Salamancerless talky, more doey
The google Doc linked in the OP (well, my second post) has been updated with everything mentioned so far that seems to be worthy of mention. If I have missed something you or someone else posted that should be added, let me know. If you want access to edit the googleDoc, let me know.
#57, to me, it's a huge jump from allowing stocks to be banned to people having no weapons for a slot. There would almost definitely need to be some way to avoid doing that. In my opinion stocks HAVE to be ban-able, otherwise we'll just end up with the same stagnance as 6s, which Robin wants to avoid.
Something that may help get casters is to somewhere mention when a game is likely to be good and it isn't planned on being casted. Not everyone pays enough attention without a post to know if a game is missed, and as a result some people don't realize how much in demand a caster is.
Also make it super easy for anyone to get the stv. That way anyone can cast easily.
I don't have a problem with seeing solutions; it makes you think a little bit more about the problems. I'm doing my best to sum up what people say about the bad parts of each weapon in the OP, without solutions or other text.
While there are a lot of weapons that make you wonder how the stats were made that way, I think this thread should be tailored toward why you would ban it in a "banning weapons" competitive setting. This will (hopefully) help Valve realize faster why we did what we did.
I think DarkNecrid had a good idea. List why a weapon is bad or why it is bugged in some way. Try to keep the suggestions to things that are popular opinions in the tf2 community (pub or comp, both are valuable). Keep them as concise as possible. Please keep any extremely personal opinions, and anger, out of it. Quick example:
Beggar's Bazooka
-reload glitch that allows players to avoid the detonation on self downside
-3 rockets are too fast to be defended by any pyro
-medics can be killed instantaneously by a well placed bazooka shot, regardless of what a team does
I'm going to immediately regret this decision.
EDIT: I ran out of room on this post, please refer to the Google doc linked for an organized list. If something I said does not properly convey your or someone else's post, please let me know. These should be the tf2 communities opinions, not mine.
The google Doc has been updated with everything mentioned so far (up to #79) that seems to be worthy of mention. If I have missed something you or someone else posted that should be added, let me know. If you want access to edit the googleDoc, let me know.
I'm gonna give PAPASTAIN's idea a try. Here is a google doc that can help us organize things better.
I would be happy to let others add/edit it, I shouldn't make it public to everyone, however. If you know you deserve to be able to edit it, post or steam message me and I will add you to it.
the301stspartandroughtlet's assume the players in these lobbies are trying to be competitive with each other. banning weapons means you ban the most powerful unlocks, right? obvious choices like the pomson, wrangler, huo long heater, phlog and bazooka go immediately, but what's next is things like the degreaser, the basher, and the gunboats. these are powerful unlocks, but not overly powerful; they contribute to the overall balance of the game, as the community has found.
this obviously doesn't give any insight onto which weapons need to be fixed; it just gives insights onto the best weapons. plus, it makes playing less fun (who the fuck wants to play highlander pyro without the degreaser)
People will not ban powerful unlocks. People will ban unlocks that they feel comfortable playing with or playing against. Nevertheless, I also believe that there should be a selection of weapons that cannot be banned. This correlates with the voting system that I suggested before.
People also forget that bans would likely affect both teams. Would I vote to ban degreaser if I know that my pyro also can't use the degreaser?
In fact, in Robin's eyes it's more interesting when a person is worried his weapon might be banned, so he must practice outside the typical meta.
My knowledge of OBS and fps is limited, but some quick suggestions to try. I don't believe pov demo recording will effect fps at all. It doesn't affect performance to my knowledge (at least not noticeably). OBS does have an effect on fps, there's not much way to avoid this (in fact, some people don't play matches while streaming because it effects fps).
Easiest thing to do would be to turn your quality down. See if a quality of 7 or 8 changes your drop in fps and if that's a quality you are willing to accept.
Next see if changing your max bit rate affects anything at all. I don't expect it to change anything unless you are streaming, but I could be wrong.
Finally, if you need to record and need 132 fps (and you can't change OBS), turn down your in-game settings/resolution. Run an fps config like chris's (if you're not already), turn down your resolution, only output to one monitor, make sure all external programs are closed, etc. Just general things that would increase performance in general.
There is this gamebanana page and file http://tf2.gamebanana.com/sprites/3563.
I'm not sure if it still works after how ever many updates and steampipe, but it's worth a shot. Also, one of the comments as of 8 days ago says you can turn it off in settings. I also don't know if that's the case.
edit: also, #2 is right, it won't work on sv_pure 2
edit2: also, this will remove your ability to see OTHER snipers dots. Just a warning
in the same vane as hanbrolo, typing +right or +left in console will make you spin around in circles without moving. If the plugin looks for actual feet moving though, +moveright/+moveleft would be a better bet. Anything without the wait command will look weird to other people.
