Newbie mixes is a relic of things past, only the oldest players remember it and it's only folk lore. nobody remembers who really made tragic servers, and all of the servers now are being permanently dossed.
TF2 lobby has been remade another 5 times, and none of them are alive. Valve (quietly) have shown that they will not release another update to the game, unless it is a cosmetic one.

All the shit posters have been exiled from the community for past things that they have done. The forums have been become an elitist cesspool. where anyone who is new to the community is told to stay away essentially. The only Lans are held at public businesses on touch pad laptops. Rocket-pipe-scatter-god-king-scientist has become considered to be the best player in the world by multiple sources but is known mostly among the tf2 trader community as the most successful tf2 trader in history.

The community is currently looking for a Savior, one who can bring back the nostalgia of the good old days, back when soldiers could use the shotgun, back when scout didn't carry around their med at scout speed. The past where demos stickies where not Nerfed, and finally when the medic's crossbow didn't reload while holstered.

it's the cheapest ddr4 kit for sale right now, it's not as though he can't just run it at a lower clock, also ryzen for pure gaming is just a waste, it still gets outperformed by intel. same for nvme ssds, just a waste of money unless you are using your computer as a workstation. Also if he plans on streaming a turing gpu will be able to output better/similar quality to x264, especially in high motion games.
