you literally can just drop a single file in your custom folder to achieve audio like that, also that exact method was spread around like wildfire previously and resulted in loads of bans before the other method was posted about, i thought you were unaware of what i was referring to, instead you are trying to ackshully me on this shit.
either way the method i described is banned despite merely being a change in the volume of ingame sounds to make other sounds more prominent. you have no idea what river used, and neither do i, that doesn't change the fact that the method i described is banned
i know it's anecdotal but i personally find that removing soundscapes makes it much easier to soundwhore

it's not sound replacement, the script in question is using soundmixers.txt to lower the volume of some sounds and raise those of others (namely decloaks and ubers)
meanwhile no one bats an eye at changing surfaceproperties (can change footstep sound to the louder metal one) or removing soundscapes (which makes it much easier to hear rotates/build noise/uber crackle/voice lines)
