#7 CEVO Community Meeting in TF2 General Discussion

what kind of weapon bans and class restrictions will be implemented? can we expect bans decided by a vote, either by admins or the equivalent of ESEA's invite captain method or some other process

#5 CEVO Community Meeting in TF2 General Discussion

how will caught cheaters be handled? in ESEA, if someone cheats and doesn't get caught by the client they are not banned from the league. If someone cheats in tf2, but isn't detected by the client and not during a match, there are not any consequences for them in terms of the league play.

edit: im tired and not actually at my computer sorry

#31 Can someone summarize the drama? in TF2 General Discussion
Caspianpeople ignore papasmurf/tehoreoz(2c)/turts/twitchjohn when they try to counter the "malware" argument.

no one that I know of has quit esea this season because of the "malware" client (aside from the 2 players who got banned)

european and non esea players seem to be the loudest ones in this whole argument aside from the invite lan supporters.

once you've already paid up for a season, you'd rather not quit without playing. Watch how many teams sign up for open next season. I don't have any idea of the numbers, but i'm pretty sure it'll be less.

PapaSmurf323please find me a single person in this community, besides myself, who was actually mined.

this is terrible logic. just because it may not have happened to us does not mean that is suddenly right or okay. the fact is that it was able to do that, and thats the bottom line.

that guy who shot my neighbor in the face didn't shoot me, so i'm not upset.

#43 does our education system suck? in Off Topic

My freshman year of highschool, I was in a rough state emotionally. My plan was to kill myself after highschool, so I didn't do shit on the basis that I would be gone afterwards so there was no point.

Near the end of the year, my English teacher calls me into his room to talk to me, and he shows me my grade on the computer. I didn't even try to feign like I cared when I read it, my grade for the entire year was 16.4%.

He gives me a vocab sheet, has like 10 words on it that I already knew, tells me to write down the definition of the words and bring it back to him. I don't know exactly what made me do it, but I sat down there and wrote what I thought each word meant in about a minute, then handed it back to him. He told me to go back to lunch, and I did.

Later on in the week, we get to know how our grade is going with this kind of informal talk each teacher gives. When I get to my English teacher, he shows me my grade on the computer, and I almost had to stop myself from laughing.

He had given me around 1500 bonus points that brought my grade up to a 65%, which is about the lowest D you can have. I passed freshman English and have since handled the depression fairly well. I like to think that the only reason he did this is because he knew I was fairly smart, and that it was mostly the depression causing this. However, when I look back and think on it, he did give extra credit to anyone who brought him cake/jerky...

nixnytei've always used a touchpad for gaming. this isnt a joke post, i could post pictures of the worn paint on several laptops or people i've played tf2 with previously could confirm. would i be eligible to receive this mouse since i've never had a "real" one, or is it only for people who have old, faulty mice and would appreciate a replacement?

either way, it's very generous of you to give the mouse away, so thank you for doing this regardless

jesus christ if you don't get it i'll buy you a fucking mouse nobody should have to go through a touchpad

Platinum
If 90 percent play for love of the game, why do you need the 10 percent to make your move successful?

because the ten percent is what keeps a lot of us going. There are a lot of people who want to be the best, seeing people like you, it gives a drive. You said it yourself earlier

Platinum With nothing to play for, fun is the only option and therefore competition dwindles

the best is what we play for

for me personally, my drive to improve and try is often fueled by seeing how much better other players are than me, and me not wanting to settle for it. I'm not sure how common this mentality is, but when I first started getting into competitive, I would watch the casts that sal uploaded to his youtube channel, and seeing how much better everyone was than me is what made me stick with the game. It's what made me practice.

I doubt this is ever going to happen but if all of invite just moved to a different league with the equivalent div, then people would flock to it. The higher the skill level, the more people want to improve and try to reach that level. how do you get to invite? well, first you need to play in ESEA, not ugc/etf2l/any other league. It's not that we need invite teams for the move to be successful, its that it would bring a lot of exposure and really speed the whole process up and cement it as an actual thing.

I don't think you realize/appreciate fully how much weight your word and actions carry. When your name is often dropped as "one of the best" then everyone who plays this game is going to listen and follow you.

but all of this is just talk, you're going to do whatever you want, and so is everyone else. I'm just trying to understand where people are coming from.

Dedication isnt about practicing till you get it right.
Dedication is about practicing until you cant get it wrong.

Thinking I cheat wont make you a better player.

#27 Ippz casting? in TF2 General Discussion

if you're going to not cast games for teams from main who have names that are so unacceptably filthy and a bad representation of our community, then you shouldn't have casters swearing either because that is just awful and we cannot handle the bad words
