go yight on the demoman class
thank u cornpop i'm enjoying having breakfast with you virtually
i'm not surprised by how prevalent the There Are Only Two (2) Genders line of thinking is nor by how many think that "there are or are not x y z 'genders'" is even a coherent or relevant kind of discussion but i feel the urge to say that i don't give a shit if someone wants to do some goofy ass shit wrt how they try to categorize and present themselves (or some non-goofy shit frankly like being a standard 'they/them' non-binary person) because all that shit is made up and the world's probably ending soon enough anyway so we should do whatever makes us feel comfortable with ourselves in the meantime. if you recognize that it doesn't matter one way then why should you reckon it matters the other way?somebody who's on some goofy online gender shit ain't doing anybody harm and is probably some queer teenager with a shitty home life trying to carve out a space and identity (generally defined, like the kind that we all have, not necessarily in the cliched "i identify as x" way) for themself in some way that will evolve as time passes, as everything does.
anyway the whole "i identify as an attack helicopter" thing was old before anyone came up with it and is unbearable not so much because it's especially harmful (remember that it's not like anybody critiquing the shit is suggesting that it's more than a tiny drop in the goddamn bucket compared to x y or z statistic about violence against trans people or whatever other talking point) but because it's not even a funny joke to begin with, lol
hamahamsyphwhat started off as speedy boys raising money has turned into get money while wearing a speedrunning maskhamahamfuck gdq, biased and also marketing for the wrong target audienceI don't know much about gdq what do you mean by this?
twitch chat is now in sub mode and slow mode
mike uyama sold out and toned everything down in order to get good deals from charity organizations
lol yeah gdq sucks now because they're trying to raise more money for charity.....they sold out to Big Cancer Prevention
that yodel thing she does is some real good shit
so is the point of the whitelist being as open as possible to appease some imagined demographic of casual players who would be interested in 6v6 if only we did x y and z to make it slightly closer aesthetically to the casual game? why focus on that rather than make sure people who are already aware and interested get involved and stick around? if i can do my own speculation, i'd propose that casual tf2 is so different from any possible serious competitive format that few people who are interested in playing a competitive game are going to be drawn into 6v6 by it being a tiny bit more similar to casual play, especially as long as people are still playing highlander. i personally am not interested in learning the basics and then having to deal with endless possible combinations of goofy-ass weapons that nobody uses most of the time anyway except to dick around. i'm sure these points have been made many times in the past, just my two cents...
hayesif ESEA wanted to attract ugc players, it wouldn't take a rocket scientist to figure that equation out, just make a free beginner division that plays once a week while offering some sort of incentive that is better than receiving a participation medal.
do this, forbid anyone who's already played in that division or perhaps made playoffs from playing it again, and give the top teams free premium for the next open season. let people start out for free and then get them ensconced. solves both the big skill leap between ugc and esea and the initial monetary cost. wouldn't lose esea any money either since the players in that division would be 100% new and many of them would be converted into paying customers after a while. smurf-type shenanigans might be an issue though. perhaps in the context of the tf2 scene it would be pretty easy to figure out who the mysterious really good person in the beginner division is and snitch on em lol
breathing in steam is the only thing i've ever found to help speed things along with voice stuff. you can probably find a reasonably cheap steam inhaler thing at the pharmacy or walmart or wherever if you're not keen on hunching over a pot of boiling water
