Who the fuck actually makes the decisions at RGL and why is there no transparency/accountability? The season hasn't started yet just add back in clearcut and get rid of these abortion maps jfc, it's not too late to reverse this stupid decision
I tweeted at them and the guy running the acct was like "i normally don't browse tftv" and then when I linked this thread they said "Timing of the cup wasn't intentioned to be so close to the season, it just happened that way. I'm personally disappointed with the removal of clearcut for the season (I prefer Clearcut and Bagel over product myself) but it will be back next season! -QQ"
MGEMatt@bear add up
im a grad student bro i have negative free time (and a paper to submit by tomorrow night)
okay i thought 'mid day pugs' meant like noon but yea wtf why are pugs dead in the afternoon-evening don't people pug to warm up for scrims?
makes sense if people left pugchamp for inhosues tho cause that shit always goes mad late for some reason, but it's harder to start early usually cause someone has to deliberately 'start' them vs pugchamp where ppl just add up and if there's enough there's enough
NEET pugs sounds like a great idea
Kevin hit the nail on the head, you gotta be easy on yourself and realize nobody is perfect and you will always have bad games or get outshined by someone else. If it really becomes a huge issue I would even say you might want to just not look at logs, just focus on helping your team win and doing the best you can. Some people get super down on themselves for their K/D and will straight up disable it in their hud (roamers do this primarily cuz they have trash stats from sacking).
I think the healthier way to strive for improvement is by noticing situations in which you get caught out or could change your play somehow, rather than looking at a more abstract statistic and wishing your number was magically higher. But even then, getting angry at yourself is never helpful so I think practicing forgiveness and trying to let go (take a few breaths, think about something else) is probably your best bet. Nobody gets good instantly, but you don't see banny yelling at himself and getting super mad if he messes up, he has the mental game to not get flustered even if he is playing badly or losing, and everyone should strive towards that.
TF2 is somewhat about mechanical skill but beyond a certain point it's just timing, gamesense, team play, and mental game, and all of those things you can practice every game you play and try to be more cognizant about, rather than beating yourself up for missing or doing low dpm.
Woah I like that idea of a hidden cup that would be mad fun to watch, how would it work exactly? Chat mods would have to be pretty diligent in banning people who cheated and looked at logs to find who the players were (unless everyone had to use an alt account or something but that would be a ton of work), they'd also have to force everyone to wear no hats.
Could probably tell certain things by who uses original vs stock but would be pretty difficult I think. The prospect of playing and having no idea who's on the other team (admins would have to message both teams connect info) sounds wild and I bet it would cause people to play a lot different
Young_SanityIf i can cast I would be 100% down.
cre-8It shall be ME that will cast this tournament idea!
Idea: offseason tournament where the leaders of each invite team take turns drafting players (from the last season, don't think there's quite as much demand for newcomers as in football lol) in opposite order of standings. After the first 9 players are picked, the 9th place leader gets to choose their second player first, then the 8th place leader, etc.
I made a tweet mostly as a joke (link but RGL responded and said they would bring it up to the team as a potential cup idea, what does tftv think? The idea is to make pug teams which are more balanced and bring more diversity into things for a change, instead of mostly the same players always playing together and knowing who will make playoffs beforehand.
Another interesting alternative might be do have each member of froyo split up onto their own team and draft that way (probably have skeez pick first as medics can't carry nearly as hard as combat classes). If the draft idea doesn't get done by RGL or anyone for a cup, this could be a cool stream idea similar to the tf2 olympics.
chiefdogIs it brainless tho?
ive played so many pugs where i just prefired random angles and got rewarded with dumb kills it is absolutely brainless
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FFJBspOPexk (random meme video from 4 years ago doing this)
this is a stupid question but are there any good keyboards (ideally tenkeyless) that are wired but have the option to go wireless?
i love my hhkb pro2 (the topres are rly nice) but i wanna have something with the option to unplug and use from the couch for casual stuff
oh boy another RahThread ill post here just for a little bit of content for the new blood medic players to have some context
- [redacted] had stupid good mechanics and was practically unkillable plus the usual top invite positioning/gamesense, shame it had to come to the whole Diddling Kids thing....
- shade super creative caller and good jukes/surfs and back in ye olde days on HRG just played in positions where he would never die
- honestly havent watched raymon too much to know his calling but definitely insane mechanics and super confident/good under pressure with milks and stuff
- skeez not the craziest mechanics but very smart player and good caller/team player, always seemed to wiggle a way out, also super disrespectful with milks which sometimes leads to drops but with a good team like froyo can mean loads of saved ubers
- zilly crazy mechanics and good calling but sometimes got caught out (probably also a factor of not being on a #1 team tho lol everyone looks better if they play on froyo vs being rolled by them)
- ckj always played in a position to live and had some nice surfs, he would also randomly arrow the other medic at mids or across the map randomly (or at least did vs me lmao) which seems like a meme but he hit them a lot, he also had such stupid jukes where he wouldn't look at you and it was almost impossible to hit him
- 404 and lolguy both very passive and always in the right position to escape, as well as having stupid good mechanics
i was kind of a feeder and definitely got caught out too much, disrespected the enemy team too much leading to drops, as well as arrowing too much but when i was grinding the game i had pretty good mechanics so those arrows would save ppl in pretty clutch times, i also called a lot and provided i wasnt tilted or arguing with sandblast (oops) i would be super focused on the present and making sure my team was planning what to do next rather than worrying about the past (this is an important role to have on a team cause otherwise ppl will just argue forever and get distracted)
hey im not hating on the vid on this thread, that's most definitely a work of art im just in awe at the boldness of catbowcar to put clips with people disconnecting in them lmao are these like post-game after un-execcing or something
but his net settings were Phenomenal though despite that dpm
