bearodactylObviously ETF2L can do what they want and regular season matches probably don't hold much consequences. But as a ruleset I'm not sure how I feel about it, don't game in EU happen relatively early at like 8pm UK time? Seems a little weird to have these time limits on games that aren't LAN with super limited time.
Also, wouldn't this encourage a team that loses mid on golden cap to stalemate and never push out because they get a free pass to another middle? In ESEA we had no time limit and the longest golden cap I ever saw was a 30 minute one between my team and ascent, where we went back and forth from last to last on badlands until eventually the better team (ascent) won.
TF2 is about winning rounds and a large part of what makes the game interesting is the better team can lose a middle but still win the round by consistently outplaying the other team in team fights and pushes/holds. Middles have a lot of randomness and it seems like it would be so frustrating to play a golden cap for 15 minutes and scrape your way to the enemy last but then have all your progress nullified and end up getting unlucky and losing middle. We don't measure the best teams based off who won more middles, we measure it by who won the most rounds.
I think the time limit was introduced after a 45(?) minute granary overtime during a prem official/play offs game
