Our opponents had just a little time to reject or accept our scheduling offer and I can't tell if we have a match tonight now. Anybody have any idea what is going on?

This one goes with it. Too good to leave out lol
Mazi is the PTD, personal training director. Jeff is the operations manager.
https://www.lafitness.com/Pages/ClubHome.aspx?clubid=790 club i'm listed under, moved back to SI.
If you go back and read what I wrote, I said some people can get away with it like smaka. He has a great job and has the ability to go whenever. 100k a year is not a lot most decent careers make that much nowadays. Has nothing to do with that and more with what I originally said. And what Phaser said. If you can read.
The one season I played invite we finished 5th and were in contention of making LAN til the last week of matches. I remember thinking about all of this back then. I would have went but I wouldn't be able to do it 3-4x a year and definitely not in our busy season (which is around the holidays/new years resolution when all the over weight people come in).
Dagger ~ we can all read the begging for money threads during LAN. What does that say to you? I'd like to hear your actual opinion on it.
Anyways i'm done posting. GL in invite everyone this season I was just speaking my mind and my perspective from a personal standpoint. Certain people aren't playing invite for different reasons. A lot of you don't understand that. This thread is titled "rip invite" after all.

It depends on the club though. You get a % of your monthly EFT as bonus.
So for example, my paycheck with bonus is 1000 base, +300 OT, +commissions (1500), +60%(gross/eft)4000 every 2 weeks. The bonus is critical to make over six figures though. That's where the good gm's flourish and the bad ones get demoted and someone else steps in. It's a very lucrative business. That's why missing 2 days could miss me 4k.
Dagger, why stop? It's a forum for talking not just trolling..
Me and Phaser probably have a much different outlook on this because we're a bit older than the average guys in invite. I just turned 28. Different strokes for different folks I guess. I was just giving my perspective/opinion on it.
Staten Island is considered NYC. There are 5 boroughs in NYC. Manhattan, Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx. I run the Staten Island location.
Lights: 100k is really on the low end. The GM's at busier gyms make even more. LA Fitness is really big, luxury and has alternating pricing which allows us to run a sales system similar to car sales. Research it more than the time you already wasted if you want to find out for yourself.
I do play for fun and it is a hobby. But money definitely has a lot to do with it in the end. That's why I brought this all up in the first place relating to all the donations needed and then putting in my own perspective on how it would be for me, someone who doesn't need donations but it wouldn't make much sense for me to go.
Pizza delivery jobs are minimum wage. You could replace that quickly with just about any job.
My job is tough in regards to the shifts involved and leniency on days off. Winter is our busy season so I usually take my week vacations in the summer. Making over 100k a year though isn't something that anyone can obtain real easily and it's necessary for me since i'm getting married soon and want little baby binkles running around eventually. My position over sees all facets of the gym but i'm mainly responsible for sales and marketing. If i'm not there to produce the numbers drop immediately and then I lose money. My staff could hold up the fort but not produce to its capability without full man power. That's besides the point though if I wanted to take random 3 day vacations without much notice, my District VP would still have to approve them which is where my road block occurs. I could probably get away with it with a good enough excuse but it's just going to lose me a lot of money in commissions/bonus.
Yeah frkn i'd probably be on the same boat as you. 3 days max a year for LAN. I don't think 3x a year would be possible.
LANS are 3x a year? What if you had a good job which earned you over 100k a year that was less lenient on taking days off? Would you still go? Or save what you do earn in vacation days for your girl or real sick days when you're sick. If I was at a job where I didn't care about my growth in the company i'd do whatever because then it wouldn't matter. Maybe i'm just getting too old lol
I'm a GM at a LA Fitness in NYC. If I was a part time pizza delivery guy or something that's a different story. You could just quit and get another pizza delivery job it wouldn't really matter. In the corporate world your boss doesn't care about your hobbies he cares about the numbers at the end of the day. If i'm not there the numbers won't be good and that's pretty much it. Also it hurts my own paycheck from commissions/bonus standpoints. I can't really complain because I make a good amount of money but that's how it is for me which sucks in regards to my love for video games. Hard having a real career and playing competitive TF2. Also after thinking about it i'd rather spend vacation hours having a real vacation in Cabo or something. Not everyone is in the same boat as me obviously but i'm sure there's some.
Smaka is really the only person in tf2 i've met that has a real career that can take off when he needs too. He has a good job. His damn beeper blows up 24/7 though lol
Now, where do the 4 of you work at?
The crazy thing is that most of the teams who goto LAN are of working age, however they don't work. Not all but a lot. Instead of working they play tf2 all day and have the community pay the way for them. Then instead of repaying the community with their earnings they pocket the tournament prizes.
I work full time and would be able to pay myself to LAN however i'm not sure if my employer would like me leaving for a 3 day vacation to go compete in a video game tournament in Texas just to earn back what I shelled back to fly there and dorm. It's a tough call for people like me who would want to compete in invite but then if we made LAN i'd be jeopardizing my job by going. Which isn't really worth it if you think rationally.
In my mind it really only works if you know you can take off any 3 day period on the weekend 3 times a year, or if you're unemployed and getting funded by someone. I wonder if Salamancer ever got repaid for his contributions to i46? It's complicated. I think we should do maybe 1 big LAN a year (Like i46) instead of 3 every year in Dallas on top of Insomnia. Instead of funding for ESEA we should fund for our top 2-3 teams to goto europe to compete in the much bigger tournament with more bragging rights and prize pools. Doing this should also lower the amount of $ ESEA charges us to setup their LANS as frequently as they do.

Anyone else get these? Probably Kalkin in disguise.
That made me crack up lol
One of the most important things regarding aim is hardware. Someone getting 20fps on a crap monitor isn't going to have stellar aim like someone in invite getting super high fps with a 120hz monitor. It reduces your capabilities.
Some people do start with natural talent which allows them to rise up quickly while others take much longer.
Aiming is just playing a lot and developing muscle memory to the games physics and speeds, and figuring out how to use the different weapons which doesn't take long.
However having good aim doesn't make you instantly good in 6's, or even HL. It's a heavy team based game which requires high synergy betweeen your teammates, and communication. You could have the best dm in the world and still be holding your team back in a match setting because you don't know how to play. While others don't have the best aim but are stronger in other areas can get the job done much better.
MGE is a good tool to start practicing your aiming but inevitably you want to make the move over to pugs to learn how to play the actual game and not just dm mode. If you play too much soldier 1v1 good scouts will eat you up.
Also @ the op, don't worry much about the comments it's just the way this forum is. Keep practicing and doing what you enjoy. You WILL get better over time and maybe you'll even learn something from the nasty replies. Everyone has to start somewhere.
Owl that's not what i'm really talking about. Just making a conversation that's more in depth than the norm. People become so infatuated with damage numbers or k:d ratios that they forget it's a team game and there are role players allowing other players to look good. In the big picture it wouldn't be possible for certain players to look amazing without said role players. In the end it doesn't matter who has the most damage or kills all that matters is who won or lost.
P.S. Remember to thank all your medics and roamers this season! #mediclove
