was going to recommend using HBCD/UBCD to reset the password but apparently something with windows 8 is different from previous versions so it doesn't work. honestly if you don't feel like spending a ton of time trouble shooting just backup her data and reinstall windows. she might even have a boot partition on there already for a fresh install as well
