I highly recommend trying to fit some farm runs in there, doing willows is just super fast and xp and you only have to do it once a day to slowly get xp up.

#76 ESEA has outlived it's usefulness in TF2 General Discussion
Re4litycatman1900I don't have much to add here but why hasn't prem tried just having teams pay up and using the money they pay as prize money?

I don't know if they've tried this or not, I just think that it's probably one of the better solutions.
so bottom half of prem having to pay se7en to play in the div? i mean it would just cause the same problem people have in invite, why pay $80 fee to play in a season just for "b4nny" to win it.

I guess when you say it like that yeah you're not wrong, if one team is clearly going to always win well shit why pay. But I guess I thought they all teams would want to aim and work towards that goal to take that money for themselves rather than let another team take it.

#26 Valve's comp Format? in TF2 General Discussion
Tobformat: 6v6
ruleset: best of 5. Current system is good but best of 3 is a bit too short.
class limits: 2
Medic rebalance would be needed. Perhaps medics shouldn't be able to overheal eachother
map pool: Honestly at this point I wouldn't care if they throw in random pl/koth/ad maps. Back when comp MM came out I grinded it for a while and the 5cp gets boring very quickly. It's not terrible but it needs some variation because in the end it's just a pub and I don't want to play scout 24/7

I just want them to remove the forced graphic settings. Sure I'll use viewmodels, sure I'll play some badwater, but please make it play at more than 8 fps.
Their explanation at the time was "we want streams to look good" but there's only like 5 people that ever streamed comp MM and they all quit playing it because of the terrible frames and nobody else wanted to play because of it either

a good reasonable idea here, I like it.

#42 What is the (possible) future for high level tf2? in TF2 General Discussion

Man I just don't want to see high level tf2 die.

It's hands down one of the most unique competitive shooters out there. It has so many awesome possibilities and so many awesome, passionate, people involved in making it happen on a competitive level. I think there's a lot of people who want to see this game succeed. Like holy fuck even people who have left the community for other esports opportunities or to engage in the real world want to see the game succeed.

I always feel like we as a community are on the verge of our next big break. Every single season I look forward to, excited to see the rosters of old teams and new teams battle it out. Every season I'm amazed by the commitment some people have to this game, dedicating so much time and energy into becoming better players. I always hope this is going to be the competitive season and sometimes we get one, it might not be amazingly competitive sometimes, but look at last seasons finals, they were a nail bitter, it wasn't just a roll over and die match. I hope to see that level of competitive, that level of fight again and again every season.

There's so much variation in the format as well, just so many different things that you can do in a match to win or just casually to improve. Every off class is exciting and every weapon switch makes me wonder what's the plan, what's going to happen next? Sometimes it's just players fucking around and that's ok, one of the wonderful things about team fortress is that you can still succeed even if you do some light hearted things or goofy strats. I can't help but love every single match I watch and every match I play. I don't think I've ever seen the same match twice where the same plays were pulled and every match I personally play has so much variety and flavor I always crave for some more.

I don't know if this is the thread to post this whole ode to competitive tf2 to be honest but right now as the future of esea looks uncertain and the future of the i series event looks uncertain I can still hope that everything works out and we pull through again. It's stupid how much I love this game, and how much of an impact this game has had on my life but it's changed me for the better. It taught me so much about how to lead and how to be a nicer person, a friendlier person. It introduced me to some of my best friends and it helped me when I was in the deepest part of my depression.

There's so much potential in this community game and it shouldn't just end and go to waste now, we're a unique breed and there will never be a game quite like tf2 again, not one with the same level of community and customization and flavorful arena style game play. The future may not be the best in some respects, but this game is still unique and wonderful and I believe that there is even more left for this community and game to do and I have faith that the competitive scene will not die and we will be able to keep playing this game we love no matter what.

End of rant/thoughts/shitspewing
