Assuming your calculations are correct. If it was matching this season the prize pot would be $12,780. So you know have $3,220 for all the rest of your expenses.

ignorance is bliss!
I don't know about this season, but torbull has used his own money to help tf2 teams get to lan. they are always willing to give the 4th place pot to a team before lan if it means they can actually get there. I don't know if you think a lot of players live in Chicago or something, but for the California players Dallas is probably a better choice and bringing your own computer isn't exactly a good option for a lot of people.
potOdissiusTime to say fuck ESEA and make a TeamFortress.TV League and migrate all ESEA teams to it?I agree with this. Entry fees are used to fund a LAN final for the top 4 teams, including LAN expenses and flights.
I don't know if you put much thought into this, but open players would have to pay much more than their moms would allow for this to be plausible at all. It's a fact that ESEA can hold a lan for TF2 because of the money it gets from the CS games.
potIt's clear that ESEA has no interest in promoting TF2 or expanding the scene whatsoever.
Their ads don't show any TF2 footage at all.
TF2 wasn't installed on a TF2 designated computer.
90% of our entry fees go to CS players.
Orange stream not even handled by ESEA.
You gotta enroll in a math class or something man. If you look at the money that ESEA pays in prizes, setting up tf2 servers, setting up lan events: there is no way that our money is going to another game. We don't pay that much in fees. Their money is actually going to our game so that we can have an invite prize pot that isn't tiny because of how little money our game actually brings into esea.
I know it's really popular and easy to blame esea for everything, but go look at what cbear said in response to extine. They don't make that much money on our game. They do us a big service because there is no other league that could get us the amount of attention they do. Are the unprofessional and shitty in some of the things they do? Of course, but if you look at the big picture esea is keeping 6's alive.
wide and tall will also change it so you have a better chance of centering it
DrakeMegrimAlready a bigger pot per person then lan. :(
you are incredibly awful at math
please find a doctor that would agree that your eye strain problem is caused by your video game not having a big enough fov
Cool_BreezeWhen are you idiots going to realize that this game has reached its growth potential? Seriously, esea doesn't care because this game brings little to no money to them. There is a reason why their servers are utter garbage and they don't bother fixing it or provide adequate compensation for lan teams (compared to other games). The only reason esea even offers tf2 is probably because they don't want any other competition developing which allows them to have a monolpoly over the "online gaming market" (LOL). And why should they care about tf2? TF2 is a 5-6 year old game that never had the amount of exposure or enough players to ever compete with 1.6, css, etc. The game is fun which is why I play it, but thinking that this game is going to just explode into css or something is laughable. Have realistic expectations and stop living in a fantasy world. later nerds
Why is TF2 the top spectated game at LAN every single time than?
It seems like you (eXtine) thought you had a hard yes from the people that were involved, when really they were just thinking about it, or were willing to do it unless something else came along. It is shitty that they didn't give you a heads up but I think in the long run they realize that even though ESEA is as shitty as a business organization gets, they are still currently the best way to get big exposure for tf2. At the very least they put the stream up on their website that gets a lot of views. I kind of get why you are upset but you should think about this beyond extv. The orange stream will get more viewers that aren't tf2 people, you share that goal of getting the game exposure.
Posting this video was kind of stupid though. You are a good guy and you work really hard at what you do eXtine. But usually you wanna sleep on it before posting a video about something you are so angry about, whether or not that anger is just or not.
zephyr is the coolest faggot i know
SpyromancerCan we try not to be dickwads to the new players it brings please
what? where did this idea that competitive tf2 is "dickwads" to new players come from?
